What are the thoughts on this? Does anyone think Midnight Orange would go 1:1 w/ Prop?

I mean I know Prop is Chicago only but at Binnys for instance it's 2 bottles and Midnight orange is 1. I know the prop doesn't go anywhere else tho and the Midnight does but I wonder how close production is?

I want to amend what I said slightly as to why I posted.

Part is that, I think everyone expects B2 to go for more than B1 right now. If everyone expects it, it's absolutely going to happen. The majority of people that have had the change to try it (so far) and are touting it as being better, are the very same people (by and large I can almost guarantee you) that are getting a bottle of B2. Of course they are going to say it is better. What do you have to loose when you're talking about a 4.75 vs. maybe a 4.85 anyway? The shit lords know full well all they have to do is say "better than B1" and the fire will erupt.

All I am saying is that people should temper their expectations. There are a lot of B2 bottles, and alot will be for trade. Unless you feel you are getting a great deal, I don't know why anyone that wants a bottle would pay a premium to trade for it now and fuel the hype beast. Wait and see what the general public thinks.

I thought both Grande Negro Voodoo Papi (Buffalo Trace) batches were quite good. Predictably, the b2 had more barrel presence and therefore more heat at the end. At the same time although the coffee, cinnamon and chocolate flavors were still there in the b2, they were more muted by the barrel boozines than b1.

Me personally preferring more boozy stouts, I enjoyed b2 more (but what I enjoy the most are boozy straight-up BA stouts that impart flavors of chocolate, vanilla, etc. without those actual ingredients being added). But if you like the more prominent chocolate, vanilla, etc. flavors, then I would say b1 would be more suitable and you wouldn't have to 'pay' the asking price of b2.

ps. I traded a VR for GNVP b1 1:1, and Chaos '17 for GNVP b2 also 1:1. Both trades completed between one-and-half and two years ago approximately.

You're advocating for patience and logic over the neckbeard FOMO driven hype machine? That's never going to happen! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m giving my side based on dollar for dollar value based on sales so I do have some supporting evidence. As far as a trade I would say that you’re right. I guess I just assumed if a bottle let’s say at 500ml is going for 100$ and the other for 80$ it stands to reason you could easily trade such a 100$ bottle for that 80$ bottle
And these are not accurate prices they are just being used to make a point.
Appreciate the input. Except from the guy that won’t boo at me 3 times over
    Cheers

Rare '15 + Vintage BCBS (13 or 14) for Nath? I'd be on the GI side.

Rare for Nath seems fair. I don't think you would (have) to entice anyone with the vintage extra.

I'm not real hip to the value right now, though. Curious about others' opinions.

I'd say that's close, maybe over since it seems like a lot of '18 nath is going to make it over with the recent online sales. Admittedly I'm an owner of a nath so TIFWIW

Thanks, I thought it was pretty close and have the same feelings as you. Only reason I considered throwing in the vintage BCBS would be to closer it faster than normal.

There have not been any bottles in distribution so far. I imagine there could be some sold for on site consumption at the brewery at some point, but not yet, and because of laws will never be to-go. I believe there were 1000 of each variant available for ticketed sales at DD.

If you purchased a ticket for variants, you got one of each variant with that ticket. It may have been possible to purchase more than one of those tickets, but I don't know for sure.

FWIW, I traded my b2 1:1 for b1. Not sure if it’s the norm or will be the norm in the future. It insta closed which was very surprising. Like @Sabtos said there was very little hype/knowledge about b1. Shit, the online sales lasted almost an hour last year. This year it slid out within minutes. I’ll also add that people are going ape shit because b2 is a blend of OWK. And we all know the hype behind OWK. It’s a blend of the base OWK beer with no nilla. Not sure if people are confused and assume b2 has nilla. I may have been able to get more. But at the end of the day value is what people are willing to trade for something.

Not much of any. I can go to a local store and they've been sitting on the shelves for weeks. Years ago this would be a different story if there wasnt so much out there.
