Founders. Those secret barrel aging caves in the basement would be a great pleace to hole myself up... Not to mention, I'm sure I wouldn't go thirsty down there

    I wouldn't head to a brewery -- I'd head to B. Nektar Meadery.

I'm right there with you, New Glarus would make a great zombie fort. I call all the Two Women!

Agree with this was going to say the same thing... Remote enough as well. Goose Island, 3floyds, etc would be overrun by hoards from the city. Impossible to defend. New Glarus is also right on top of farmland so after the boundaries are set, walls built, you could include sustainable farmland. Including growing ingredients to brew more beer. Sounds kinda nice actually provided you have chickens, pigs, and cows too. And impenetrable walls.

Are any breweries on ships? Definitely the best option, IMHO. If all those zombie movies have taught me anything it's that no land-based position is truly impregnable. If the deadheads don't get you, your fellow man will do you in. And, even if there are no sea-based breweries, you could always detour up to Vermont and kidnap Shaun & Sean....

I hate to be THAT guy but....there is no disease talk nor a visit to the CDC in the REAL Walking Dead, aka the comics. They only did that in the horrible, unwatchable butchery that is the AMC tv series.

Back on topic, any island brewery, like the Brauerei Schloss Eggenberg that Hard Target linked, would be optimal.

^^^Technically, Red Stripe is on an island and I still wouldnt want to occupy that brewery (or Kingston Brewery, Jamaica's other brewery)

I would definitely head to Ommegang...its only about 200 miles from me, which is less than a half tank of gas, in the middle of nowhere and they have a huge front gate area that would be a great foundation for me to start building the walls. I would take all of their belgian yeast and feed it to the zombies so they would stop using it in every beer.

Finally, someone who shares my disdain for The Walking Dead television show.

Carl putting one in Lori's dome (found on spoiler page by me bc I wouldn't watch the show again for any reason) is so stupid.

Can't speak for the gun rack ownership, but in my opinion this would make the brewery that I consider my hometown brewer one of the best options out there:

    BREWERY OMMEGANG.

Out in the country, not on the highest ground but sheltered in several ways (nearby river, nearby woods, nearby hills, varied terrain, etc.), big farmhouse compound with huge doors, cold-ass winters, long, sheltered approach, fantastic beer and maybe even better food, it's perfect. I mean, just look at this shit:

Tell me that doesn't fit the bill.

I think a brewery would just be a bad idea. Most have pubs and could possibly have lots of people in them. Not to mention windows and glass doors.

Now a distribution center would be the place to go. Most are warehouses, few if any windows, and already kind of secure with either fencing or a wall around. Most are in industrial areas also. Another factor is many have their own fuel supplies for the delivery vehicles.

Now that and a wide variety of beer would be more appealing to me.

I had no idea they had such a gorgeous brewery. I'll need to get up there one day!

I'd go to Short's. It's not a castle, but the town should be relatively easy to defend from the undead horde. There's water nearby, and it's northern Michigan, so the locals should be well armed. : )

Either Hill Farmstead or Ommegang. Maybe Trapp because like the others, it is located on high ground in the middle of nowhere and shouldn't prove too difficult to fortify

I like it! But I want them to continue a wall completely around their grounds. It's open to the woods in the back and sides. That will not due. Speaking strictly of beer, yes please!

I'd call those runners simply "fast walkers" - they are nothing compared to the Dawn of the Dead (2004) runners.
