Good beer. Stocked up recently on different Christmas style brews and two sixers of Celebration was on the list. Like with all seasonal beers, I buy plenty extra and put about 18 bottles of a variety away to enjoy in the Spring.

Trying a glass on tap right now. Excellent as always, and it seems a bit hoppier this year. Getting a bit of the rose petal flavor in this beer I guess, but it certainly is no detraction.

    Dale,

I am in Texas visiting family/friends (and attended Wursfest in New Braunfels) and I purchased my first 6-pack of the season. I am picking up the rose aroma/flavor that Terence mentions (@SierraTerence). To the best of my recollection this is my first experience of perceiving rose in Celebration. I like this aspect!

I will soon be driving back from Texas to PA. Maybe a stop in DE is in order!?!

    Cheers!

Lol, I put a smiley face on the back end of my post, it's not there. Ugh, long drive I did a Cali to Pa drive in 1975 with a case of Coors on the passenger seat and perhaps a bit of chemical help. I really haven't looked for it yet, if I see it I'll try it, but I'm not really a fanatic.

I am drinking one now and enjoying it. Worth a try IMHO.

    Cheers!

It’s intensely hoppy in the old school way. Very floral, citrusy - in an oily, pithy way and bitter as hell this year. Malt is certainly there and plays at least 50/50 with the hops. Such a great beer and considering the trends in IPAs, it’s a fairly singular beer.

Just my opinion, but I believe this beer changes a bit from year to year, sometimes spice, sometimes extremely hoppy. If it's a hoppy year it'll shock the taste buds of those living on NEIPAS.

I can’t say I’ve noticed any significant change in the recipie over the years and I would personally attribute the slight change to ingredient variation but recognize I could be wrong....

My bottom line is that this beer tastes like the label looks. It’s a winter IPA through and through. Love the malt backbone and whether outdoors in the winter snow or indoors looking at falling snow out the window while something smooth plays on the record player alongside the fireplace this is one of my favorite winter staples......

It's a fresh hop IPA, hops change, for a beer dependent on a main ingredient slight changes are expected, and IMO wanted. I like its a bit different, but that's my impression on that.

Thing is, it’s not really hype. It’s excitement that a seasonal classic is on the shelves. It’s like saying “I don’t get the hype behind A Charlie Brown Christmas. It’s just an old cartoon”. You either appreciate the classics or you don’t. And I think the beer market is finally starting to turn away from the hype of hazy IPAs and sickly sweet stouts, which I think is a great thing.

I had my first bottle of the season, still over hyped to me  But it's consistent and has been around for decades so I get that aspect of it (and yes a sure sign that the holiday season is upon us).

I heard next year it'll be hazy AND it'll have more spices :sunglasses:.

I've had 2 year old Celebration which was still quite enjoyable.

I've gone through a few and I am really enjoying this year's version. I'm getting hints of that rose like aroma from the Centennial hops and I really dig it. I don't think it's especially hoppy, bitter or malty though, really easy drinking in fact - I don't drink NEIPAs so maybe that's the reason.

I'm sure there's a thread for it here but for ease, I finally tracked down a 6 pack of Northern Hemisphere and had my first bottle. I preferred Celebration to NH, and I found the price point of Northern Hemisphere shocking ($16/6 pack). I wanted to try it though, and I still like it, but I definitely preferred Celebration this year.

Random, but has Estate been bottle recently? I used to love that beer.
