Maybe I am mis-remembering, but weren't there a lot of people who described the BCBS lineup form Prop Day last year, very differently than what was described when it was fully released?

If that is the case, they were filling pitchers from the tap then filling the tasters. That would make sense if something got mixed. Because the taster of BCBS both me and my wife had were not 100% right.

Prop Day is a great event. I only had the pleasure of attending once in 2015. Everything offered (bottles and pours) were clearly identified, allowing customers to clearly know what they were buying / tasting and seek out what they liked after leaving.

“Mystery” bottles and pours isn’t a good way to market your product, it only leads to confusion and as noted in the Prop Day thread avoidable customer disappointment.

Not last year, but I think '16 Prop was very different between Prop Day and FOBAB, which caused a big stir. The bottles ended up being similar to Prop Day, which was better, but it's still a divisive variant today.

I'm sure that Coffee Barleywine and Wheatwine will really fly off the shelves at those prices. :grimacing:

I’m imagining you dressed as an old school mobster, walking in to a tiny shop with an umbrella, looking at the bottles one by one, very carefully, and setting them back, before saying “oops” and sweeping them all to the floor with your umbrella.

“Looks like you need an umbrella policy”

I "liked" this, but not sure if I was supposed to.

If Binny's and Woodmans are close to this pricing, looks like I'll be passing on loading up on Coffee and Bramble, or settling at 1 bottle.

I was expecting Coffee Barleywine to be in the $15 range (and same with Wheatwine), since Coffee & Barleywine separately have always been just under that pricing. Bramble, you should expect $20-25 IMO, since that's what Northwoods was last year.

Yeah, but coffee and barleywine are combined now, so it had to be more expensive.

Seriously though, there's gonna be a lot of wheat and barleywine sitting around after Black Friday, in case anyone falls in love with either one.

Wheat Wine is the third best variant this year so yes give me all the Wheat Wine.

    That's my thinking as well.

Although, who knows...some people will probably buy anything that says Bourbon County on it and not even think twice about the price.

Problem being is many of these releases are requiring a full allotment purchase, not picking and choosing. I'm pretty sure Binny's is like that(at least LP is). Not sure about the other Binny's stores. Jewel looks like you'll be able to choose.

If a store pulled that shit I'd stop shopping there.

That's exactly why I stopped shopping at a place that made you buy some bullshit Founders bundle last year if you wanted a CBS.

I'm pretty sure Binny's LP said you have to purchase the full allotment. No exceptions. Only choice you have is the vintage bottle.

I'm not necessarily hating (especially since I haven't had it), I mostly mean that for some people not purchasing every variant (or without the means/opportunity to), it's going to be a "do you have Prop and Vanilla? Okay, I'm good" sort of situation.
At Binny's, yeah. But I meant places that aren't going to sell out day one necessarily. And the fabled Second Drop might also produce more shelf turds.

Most? I thought that was only LP Binny’s.

Edit: I quoted this before you changed your post, and then waited to reply i guess.

Maybe I'm wrong? I know LP was full allotment only.

That said, I assume that most people are going to buy the full allotment if it's available, anyways.
