I don’t think it will be released in cans in stand alone packs. Last year it was only canned as part of the fresh hop pack. If I’m not mistaken, it is not part of the fresh hop variety pack this year...so no Celebration cans.

I'm having difficulty correlating "hype" with beer I can get for $15.99 a 12-pack. (a.k.a. $1.33 per bottle)

If paying $25+ for a single bomber of something? Now you have some serious hype going on.

Yeah, hype is not the right word for Celebration. Appreciation, comfort, reliable seem like more appropriate terms.

I can use "hype" because of the attention that it gets and some things said about it but yeah a readily available and affordable beer so not "hype" in that sense.

I'm not sure why I didn't buy any last year but for its price point it's just terrific. I could drink a lot of it over the next few weeks.

$12.88 (+ tax & CRV) for a 12 pack today at Safeway. Definitely not a hype train.

I don’t think you can ever miss the holiday season coming...I don’t need Celebration for that.

I was in the can this morning but I didn’t notice any. I’ll keep you posted if I see any in the future.

I think it’s always been a fairly singular beer due to it’s balance compared to other West Coast IPAs. But I don’t know if I’d go so far as to say the balance is 50/50. It’s still a West Coast IPA.

This is region specific, though, and here in at least this part of PA you can't even get a six pack of it for less than $10 (a store near me is selling it for $12/6 pack). So at our prices it is hardly a value purchase.

Fair enough, I probably overstated a bit. I’m sure we agree though that the malt brings a lot to this beer, more so than most American IPAs.

Also, it is a popular sentiment that Celebration holds up remarkably well over a reasonable amount of time. Much more so than other IPAs. If that thought holds water, do we think it is because the hop fade is limited/mitigated in some way? Or do we think that the malt component is so well done that it comprises enough of the flavor that the effects of hop fade aren’t as noticeable?

It's really good this year. I know SN output is very consistent, but hops/grains will vary from year to year,

OR, my anticipation for enjoying it this year just makes it better.

    God...I hope that NEVER happens!
Kudos to SN for continuing to make a truly traditional holiday ale (like Anchor used to make ).
( I haven't bought Anchor's Special Ale ever since they totally ruined it with spices. Yechhhhh).

We finally got it here last weekend, and I'm already in my second sixer. I liked it so much I finished the first one in one day.

    To update

I had Celebration two weeks ago and it was delicious. Very crisp and hoppy. I did pick up two 12 packs along with snow packs. I was in Delaware and could not pass up $14,99 per 12 and no tax. The celebration was great with Turkey the other day. Could have been my taste over the last few years but this year I really like Celebration and will buy it again next year.

    Enjoy

Had two pints on tap last weekend. Amazing. Will be picking up a twelve pack this week. A beautifully balanced beer!

Looks like I'm gonna drink some on draught before the bottles show up.
    Works for me.
