Revision posted to IG that Moro Oro, their milkshake DIPA collaboration with Lead Dog Brewing is being released this week - to Reno/Tahoe and Northern CA retail locations that carry Lead Dog brews.

This clear ipa is one of my favorites at the moment. So clean and fresh. And their DIPA? Just as delicious. I prefer these and their other clear ipa's over their hazy. But their hazy's are some of the best around too.

Sorry, just now seeing this. From what my amateur palate can tell, the Collector's Edition is sweeter. It has more of a mango, peach and citrus sweetness going on compared to the regular RAF. The regular version is citrus-forward, but has a more pronounced hop presence. I'm not entirely sure if made differently, but I could taste a slight difference. Both are great honestly.

Sorry for the lagged response. As far as I could tell, the Collector's Edition tasted sweeter. As I said before, it had more of a mango/peach/citrus flavor going on with not as much emphasis on hops as the regular RAF has. The regular version is more hop dominant, and fruit flavor displayed is very citrusy. I will say that the regular version is significantly older than the Collector's Edition, but it tasted just as I remember it.

Picked it up at the source. Guess they had some left over from release when I was there.

I will say, they did taste slightly different. Could be due to age, but Collector's Edition was definitely sweeter and very mellow in terms of hops. I should've asked when I was there if there was a definite difference.

    Drinking Citra City right now.

@Ma9573 said it right. Lactose IPAs can be a hit or miss, but this one is good. Better than Scrog Grog in my opinion. The citrus flavor is dominant, with lactose present on the finish but not overly sweet. Masks the 8.5 AbV really well.

If it's been distro'd to SoCal, we should be seeing Citra City cans soon. On draft and crowlers was delicious. Citra Slam was just as gooood.. But CS is a clear IPA. :astonished:

I didn't find it as sweet as Scrog Grog, which is why I prefer it. And as the name implies, its loaded with citrus flavor. Although I appreciate the lower abv of Scrog Grog. This drinks really well for 8.5abv.

Ahh ok good to know. One of the reasons I really like scrog because it was a bit on the sweeter side which is my preference.

Agreed. Really liking the West Coast Double IPA. Simcoe and Mosaic.

Forsure. I mean, the lactose sweetness is definitely there. Each palate is different and you might perceive it differently. Regardless, I think it is well worth a try if you're able to. Especially if you liked Scrog Grog.

Haven't had the best experiences with milkshake IPAs in general, but this blood orange juice-like shake was nice

Got to try Citra City. Pretty solid, but you can taste the extra sweetness with the Milk Sugar addition. Not my personal favorite, but I can see why this one would be popular.
