I got the presale, as did a number of friends. It was a cluster, for sure.

I’m splitting the presale with a buddy. We each get a regular, and we’ll drink one variant at his place and one at mine.

I won’t go to the release on Friday now.

    Good luck everyone!

    Double Barrel Benthic
    Vanilla Benthic
    Cinnamon Toast Crunch Benthic
    Brownie Batter Benthic
    Double Dose Benthic
    Peanut Butter Benthic

This, the main point of the presale per what they've noted is more for people to not have to line up - or can't because of work, etc. I'm in the latter category - I was either getting Benthic this way or not at all.

I'll admit, I don't particularly love their comment about getting in line if you wanted more than the presale.

    Agreed.

    Everyone, boycott HA tomorrow!

(Of course, I will be at the brewery at some point just to make sure you'll all boycotting )

Yeah, it didn't necessarily have to be what I said, maybe you give people 24 hours or 48 hours. Or figure out some other form of protection, like your name gets flagged if you try to purchase again? But all they did was encourage double dipping with the way they went about this, especially with them physically stating to go ahead and double dip if you felt it wasn't enough. Throw in the disaster that was the actual presale and the site crashing, and the ticketing system not functioning like an actual queue should... and well, this whole release was kind of a disaster on their part. And I imagine that continues tomorrow with the line. Lol.

At least on their Twitter they acknowledged the disaster that it was, and stated that they plan to "upgrade" the system for the next release. My assumption is that means Eventbrite and/or some sort of lottery.

Been a few posts on some FB forums about Benthic hitting distribution at Binnys. Apparently some have gotten it already but can’t put it out

Interesting. Talking to my local Binny's guy a week or so ago, and he did say he knew of some cool stuff that he wasn't allowed to talk about really. Maybe that's what he was alluding to...

Ah, nice. Earlier (in terms of years) than I hoped!

Given the size of HA's production facility and amount of space, their barrel program can't be that far behind Revolution's in terms of output last year and Rev had a lot last year. Looking at the amount of draft variants of Benthic, it looks like they have some supply to play with which is very encouraging.

Assuming they find a decent online platform, hope they dramatically increase the allotment for ticketed sales and leave more behind for drafts.

Creating hype and $overflow to the taproom are common reasons for in person releases, or so I’ve been told, and neither is remotely applicable for a place like HA.

That's only because they only bottled 10%, the rest is going to be available on tap. Right guys??

Ouch, dude. What is it, a case of 12? So if each person in line buys 2 of DD, that's the first 276 people in line, and the first 360 for DB?

Welp, guess I'm settling for regular Benthic.

Shhh, please don't give me any more excuses for beer-inspired rage

Why have a limit of 3 bottles if you only have that little? lol

When the 2018 benthic page first went up, I'm pretty sure the limit was 4 regular and 2 of each variant. I can see why they changed it with that case count...

Indeed it was. Very interesting. While also admitting there will be a limited amount for distro, so it looks like the secret Binny's sources are on the money.
