That's likely just them trying to prevent the double/triple dipping that happened last year

 

"Limit 2 bottles of regular Benthic and 1 of ONE variant" is how I would've done this. Those fuckers are gonna be gone by 9:45.

 

For reference, last year regular Benthic was 145 case count. Confused about the "per day", I think this applies to the per person limit rather than cases released.

 

Damn...Chicago beer scene is getting brutal...bottles sold out an hour before the store opens.

 

Don't quote me, but I'll be looking for someone to update me on the line count at 9:46 tomorrow morning.

 

I'll let everyone know what the parking situation is like. It's brutal parking in Chicago.

 

I have to believe this would be very easy to do. If Hill Farmstead in rural Vermont can do it, a brewery of a bigger size in a large metropolitan city can do it.

I'm sure others have done the math above, but to put it in bullets, that's allotments of:

• 540 regular
• 276 Double Dose
• 360 Double Barrel

In other words, well below my 500 people rule of thumb above for the variants. I bet they would have lessened the # of pre-sales if they had guessed their yields better.

 

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. ~half of all variants going to that pre-sale is kinda shitty for those getting in line.

 

Especially with the shittiness of the presale #beerrage

 

As an aside...I feel much more likely to have a head cold tomorrow morning than I did before seeing the allotments.

 

I can’t tell if this is serious. It’s Chicago, there is street parking all around the brewery. Yes, many of those spots will be taken, but you can definitely drive around and find something.

I bought in the pre-sale, and plan on being first in line tomorrow...for the taproom. If I hadn’t bought in the pre-sale, I’d have no issue with the process for tomorrow as I would’ve been really early in line for bottles anyway. Now I just get to be a spectator.

 

It wasn't. I got a pre-sale ticket as well so I'm looking forward to walking over to Balmoral after work. Definitely curious as everyone here regarding the turnout tomorrow.

 

LOL. This is fucking stupid. So...

Not only did they screw people over with the pre-release, and shitshow of a ticketing system/site crash/non-existent queue, but they now screwed over those coming into the line even more, considering those pre-release people can still double dip, and were encouraged to do so, no?

Looks like me getting there at like 10:45 = 3 regular, and no variants. As I doubt I'm the first 300 in line.

At least they gave us something to complain about online.

 

It's kinda outrageous. I really hope those who got a pre sale win aren't allowed to get in line and purchase another allotment with this more recent news, like they originally encouraged them to do... no offense to those of you who won, but that would be horseshit.

 

I'm sure they'll let them, unfortunately, and even if they wanted to stop them, I doubt they have anything in place to enforce something like that.

 

Just venting my frustration with this entire release... that's all.

What are the odds it's 24 per case, and not 12?

That would ease the pain a little bit.

Regular: 1080 people
DD: 552 people
DB: 720 people

This seems more along the lines of what their production would be, no?

 

"Edit: We forgot cases of variants were 24 per, so we've allowed presale winners to order another bottle of each variant"
