I recently had a bottle. I was at a friend's house and I don't know how old the bottle was, but man was it bad. It smelled so skunky I got wiffs of it without even pouring it into a glass. I wish I'd had a lime to perhaps cover up some of the skunkyness, but no such luck. It was the worst beer I've had in a while.

I drank Corona on my last cruise. I was by the pool and had the Unlimited Beer package, I think the waiter brought me one every time he walked by. Over 4 hr period I had 14 of them and was ready for more. Normally drinking high gravity beer at home i think drinking the super low ABV was like drinking water.

Would i order a Corona at a bar. HELL NO

One of the worst so called popular beers out there for the average person. When a person says I want to have a good beer and orders a Corona I just laugh. So many better Mexican style beers out there.

Don't mind drinking corona's while lounging on the beach or in a chili's coronarita

Totally agree. I've never been into ragging on BMC beer. I don't need to make myself feel better and back in the day I had my share of Bud Lights. Rather than get upset I just order an Iced Tea with lemon.

I drink good beer. If good beer is not available, I drink Iced tea.

I certainly don't mind it and if it's free I'll drink it. I'll never buy it though as I could spend my money on much better beer.

Over the years I've seen people pile driven on this site for various statements and postings. But this one goes by virtually untouched?

I don't mean to sound pretentious, but this is Beer Advocate. So many of you have become so snobby, shallow, and expected. I can honestly say that I have laughed more at most of you than with most of you. Hell, I doubt more than half of you can even brew a decent lager. Stop ripping beers on the sole count that you have the palette of royalty (in your own mind) and appreciate what beer really is.
I don't love, like, or even order Corona when it's $2.00/bottle at the dive I go to for a football game every now and again, but shit, you ever been to a Mexican co-workers party where everyone is just happy to be alive and grateful for what they are able to have? Corona, a house of twenty kind people exposing you to their culture, and great smiles makes Corona what it is. Beyond the taste.
Beer isn't a debate or a show of who has better silium, it's about the personal preference and bringing people together.

EDIT: Let me add this, too: I see the widest majority of you drinking beers solely from BA ratings, these days. You are the kind that are furthest from the truth. You are not Beer Advocates; you are sheep. Stop.

any beer that REQUIRES additional ingredients (fruit, salt, etc) to make it drinkable, must not be (and in Corona's case, definitely is not) any good to begin with.

I am surprised that a lot of people mentioned they 'liked' Modelo Especial.
I tried that once ... and once was enough.

Wouldn't normally choose it just to drink with dinner or at night, but it really hits the spot after a long day of cutting the lawn in the hot sun. In all seriousness, it might be because it really is the closest to "water", but after sweating my ass off for hours in 90 degree heat, I really don't want to slam down a heavy stout or IPA.

It's better than Corona or Dos Equis if you want a fizzy, yellow, Mexican beer. I stick to the Negra Modelo though when that's all that's available.

Light lagers are not my thing, but I still believe Corona is below average for the style. It's not good. (my opinion, others are free to disagree.) Not liking a beer or beer style does not make one a snob. Looking down at people for their choices does.

Are beers that uses same ingredients prior to fermentation ok to you?

How about bbl aged beers which require additional flavorings from the booze that has soaked into the wood or may be leftover in the bottom of the bbl?

In the past I've been known to enjoy a Corona with lemon when at old school bars when High Life isn't available, or at summertime parties.

I once had a party and someone brought a corona six pack, drank two, and left the rest in the cooler. After picking up the next day in 90F heat, those Corona's looked so inviting all chilled down in the cooler - after downing all four one after the other, my thirst was quenched. Later that summer I picked up a case at Costco - about halfway through the case I noticed a distinct chlorine flavor. Now its all I can taste in that beer - even with a lemon or lime wedge - and just can't drink it anymore.

Pre-fruiting/flavoring is welcome and by all means encouraged. (Widmer Shaddock IPA w/grapefruit comes to mind) That is, after all, the very definition of craft. But a beer that practically requires fruit to make it drinkable?

That said, Corona would rake in the dough in a HUGE way if it pre-fruited. Look at the sales juggernaught that is Bud Light Lime. It's taken quite a chunk from Corona's sales because it takes out the work. Now that AB-Inbev has purchased Grupo-Modelo, maybe we'll see it in the future.

I get that from Dos Equis Lager, not Corona. Tastes like an indoor pool.
