We don’t all hate some malty sweetness in some DIPAs. Revisited DFH 90 minute recently when they came out with $9.99 16 oz can 4 packs. Still enjoy from time to time.

Trust me I’m not against a solid malt profile at all. Most of my favourite cask classics from the UK would all be considered “malt bombs” on here and not considered remotely hoppy.

But Hopslam is like the epitome of what was popular in a DIPA a few years ago. Hoppy and sweet and boozy. Just not my thing.

I felt like hop devil was just a "going to destroy your taste buds with hop bitterness" type of beer .

Idk man I thought fresh hop devil had a piney/citrus flavor that so many breweries were trying to replicate at the time

Perhaps I only had it the one time, maybe 2 years ago? It was grating.

I thought Hop Wallop was more of the destroy your taste buds thing and Hop Devil was pretty balanced/tame.

That was a bit sarcastic. I drank one. A half of another real quick on the way out...and the rest I never got around to drinking (because I didn't want to). Cracked one open a few months later just to taste...and THAT was a drain pour.

I do! I do! Very excited but I am also afraid I have built such a high view of their collabs that this will disappoint somehow. Hoping not the case.

This post is a strange testament to what many think makes a good brewer today.... Stouts (ie. imperial stouts with 15 ingredients or years in barrels) or hazy IPAs.

The best brewery in NY makes neither of these but it's better if 95% of beer drinkers won't mention them in any "best" conversations. To quote Dave Chapelle, "More Monkey P#ssy for Me!"

No offense, but why do people make posts like this? Is this brewery such an underground secret you can't let us plebeians know the name?

Plebeian is way too formal. I think of most of the non-Suarez drinkers as just plebs.

Poor for by me, I agree. I just bristle at these “best” and “why not more hype” and “x brewery is better than y” and what not. I needa stay out of the OH thread. Haha.
