Agreed, the QC issues and unpredictability of who will get one with little to no consistency outside of CBS its difficult to justify the hunt. For me I love the hunt for them but it does bum me out how damn difficult it can be to get multiples.

One per person for the variants, six I think for the standard. Prices for the bottles are going from $16 to $30.

I don’t know what regular’s selling for elsewhere but someone posted on one of my FB beer groups Costco selling it for $9.69. I paid $14 at Ales Unlimited on Fri. I got the midnight Orange, bramble Rye and coffee barley wine but they made me buy 1 regular per each variant. I’m cool with that (and probably overpaying) especially considering that now I don’t have to go all over to hunt these suckers down. I totally understand that these places have to buy a lot of regular to get the variants. I live in the east bay so going to the city for this kinda stuff later on can really be a buzz kill...time is money man. FYI they didn’t have wheatwine or vanilla.

How much did they charge you for the variants? I paid $30+tax for vanilla and bramble. I think "regular price" is $25(at least on total wine it was, closet was LA area, limited stock)

Grabbed a Vanilla from Gus’s in SF.

$26 for the bottle, 1 per person. They said they only received one case.

They also had wheat whine and regular.

I enjoyed the Vanilla. I would buy more if I come across it, but I won’t be going out of my way to track any of them down.

How was the vanilla? Been hearing that it's sweet and not a lot of barrel but good nonetheless.

You know I honestly don’t know the exact prices because I bought several things but I was charged $46-$48 total (not each) for the coffee barleywine and midnight orange at main location then $30 for rye at beer basement.

Is anyone seeing anything in the east bay? Going the CBS event in sf on Friday so I am trying to avoid driving to the city.

Why are retailers selling it early? Isn't that a violation?

I am mainly seeing it in smaller shops where I doubt anyone will care. All the large ones will follow the rules typically.

Heard they will still get some BCBS and variants just not promoting it. But also heard Bay area wasn't getting bcbsv but look what happened. CBS is having a lot of stuff on draft, still worth it if you ask me.

Village Market in the Ferry Bldg got 4 variants + regular (no bramble), marked up to $28.99 for variants. Prices not in the system yet, can't imagine coffee staying at this price. They got one case of each and ~3 cases of regular.

Total Wine in Fremont has Vanilla ($25) and Regular ($13). No limits. About two cases left of Vanilla when I left this evening.
