My friend is driving up to Philly and is gonna get me some beer. What should I get that I can't get in Georgia? I am aware of seekabrew but I don't know what seasonals are out now and what is in still on the shelves right now. She said she's going to be in the Rittenhouse square area.

Can I get Headhunter's IPA? Troegs Perpetual?

I'm mainly looking for 4-packs and 6-packs. Only want to spend $20-$25. Thanks.

No Headhunter's, but there is a fresh batch of Perpetual that came out in the last 10 days.

tell her to check out Monde Market @ 21st & Sansom (red awning deli). It's right in Rittenhouse and will keep her from having to travel to the other expensive bottle shops that everyone is going to be posting here in 3.. 2.. 1...
They have Perpetual. or they did yesterday.
They'll also have some of the russian river sours, as well as redemption and damnation, if you're looking for those, as well. But those are a bit pricey and probably out of your price range.

Would she be able to find any Union/Double Jack or Daisy Cutter?

Union/Double Jack are widely available in Philly right now. Monde should have them, but if not, Food and Friends a few blocks away has them for sure.

Not sure about Daisy Cutter - have seen it occasionally (mostly in bars rather than bottle shops) but not consistently.

Can you get Victory in Georgia? Weyerbacher? Those would be two breweries of interest other than Troegs.

Double Jack is my favorite beer going right now, so I'd say that ;-) Most of the bottles are from the October bottling, so super fresh by east-coast standards.

the union jack will probably be fresher, so i would go for that. they date their bottles, so make sure she checks. if you can get fresh double jack, though, go for it. But it always seems to be old when i see it. Double Jack's not in 6 packs, though. 22oz'ers, ie more $

*Edit: i must be mistaken, then, apparently there's fresh from october double jack floating around. make sure she checks the dates though.

This is a good point. I have not see fresh Double Jack bombers come in, so any bombers you see are probably old. It's the new 12oz bottles that we've been getting fresh lately. The last few I picked up had an Oct 4th bottle date. So agreed, definitely check the datesl

Not really a fan of Black Ales.

I definitely want the 4 packs anyways.

For reference, you are probably looking at $3 a bottle for Union Jack, $5 for Double Jack. FW is not cheap in Philly unfortunately.

What store is she going to? Olde Phillly Ale House had some Daisy Cutter in as of last night. Sorry if this is late.
