    Question for you.

Do you feel like you don't understand the interest that some of these have, or are some just not your thing?

This is kind of the viewpoint I come from a lot. Like with IPAs - my bitter sensitivity makes it difficult to enjoy some of them, but sometimes I can still see where people would really jam on it. Othertimes I really don't get it. Big bad baptist is one that I really don't get.

See how he doesn't even acknowledge the Wheatwine? It must truly be the unsung hero of the year to keep it this underground.

McHenry Binnys is awful for bcs ..I used to live in McHenry....Went there for a few years. Every year their allocation got worse and worse. Being 6th in 2015 and not even getting a Rare, ruined that place for me. I know I sound entitled but when one person comes out and says top 10 will get everything then not, kinda sucks ass...plus beer manager was a weasel about it just left a bad taste in my mouth...

Yes, I'm aware I sound like a mother in law still holding a grudge.....

What the Dark Lord guru with the cool meme said

I think he’s just ranking the stouts, which seems fair to do

I just came here to say NJ released BCBS on Sunday. What a strange turn of events after living in Chicago for the past few years.

The downsides: No prop, reserve is impossible to find, and no random BCBS tappings. I only know of one in NYC.

The positive: Not being out their with all of you savages (myself included) hunting for BCBS on Friday! Good luck everyone!

Are people really that “cheap” to go to Costco and demand alcohol while not paying for membership? “Let me buy all these variants that will cost me $$$, but you’re not getting membership money from me!”

I think, after trying it, Prop may be my second favorite variant after Reserve (calling Reserve a variant is a bit of a stretch though). I'm not a variant hater but I do find this year's lineup pretty weak. I'd rank them...

    Reserve > Regular > Prop > Orange* > Bramble > Vanilla

*Orange I can't figure out. The pour I had at FOBAB was very orange-heavy. I had a sip of another person's yesterday and it was again very orange heavy. Then I got a full pour of it and it was way more chocolatey, with just hints of orange, and it was much more enjoyable. If it was like the first two tastes I had, I'd have it last, but the full pour was tasty.

Vanilla isn't as much of a vanilla bomb as I had at FOBAB, where it was borderline gross, but it's still too much for me. It got better as it warmed, but it just doesn't integrate with the rest of the beer with that much vanilla flavor.

For me though, regular is still a triumph over most of the variants this year.

Is anyone lined up at LP Binny's? In the last couple of years someone's been lined up a day or so ahead of Thanksgiving. Just wondering if someone is out there already.

I'd say hold out hope for the bottle then, I thought it was significantly different.
That Bramble ain't ever getting better. And god damn with you Wheatwine weirdos...I feel like you're just trying to elevate it in order to trade it off. It's an oddball.

Anyway, is there a consensus that Midnight Orange is basically Prop with orange? It's soooo chocolatey and thick, it's even darker colored than all the other BCBS, this year (except Prop which I haven't had yet).

I work for Costco and as we all know, liquor laws vary from State to state but I know for certain that you need a Costco membership to buy alcohol here. I had a guy come in with a flatbed full of booze and demand it all to be sold to him and said the schpiel about no membership required. My manager came over, told the guy to wait a minute while she went to the office, pulled out a printed corporate email addressed to all IL Costco's officially stating that membership IS required for any alcohol purchases. Guy left mad and empty handed lol
