Did anyone else notice that GLCA is a bit different this year? The past couple years, I havent loved it because it seemed too hoppy to me but I buy a 6-pack of it every year because, well, its GLCA.
Anyways, this year it seems better. It doesnt have the hoppy bite that it used to have. I even had my wife try it (and she HATES hoppy beers) and she was like, "oh, its better this year."
    Thoughts?

I haven't had it yet but a friend, who is a bigger fan of it than I am, said it is significantly less sweet. I'll contact another friend, whose holiday tradition is to stop at the brewery on the way home from work on the night before Thanksgiving and have one, and see what she thinks.

I know that its a little bit different every year. I like it this year and normally Im not a big fan of GL's beers (too hop forward for me usually). When you live in Ohio, you cant not have at least one Xmas Ale every year though.

There's a pizza place/bar near me that carries it every year on draft. They rim the glass with cinnamon sugar or crushed peppermint or something like that. Seems like a nice seasonal ritual.

It is definitely less sweet and doesn’t have that cloying aftertaste. Good batch, they got the spice right this time around

I dont know about that one. The peppermint on the rim sounds kind of ewwwww.

Id agree with that. To me, they got it just right this year, although I still prefer 12 Dogs.
