Bourbon County Prop Day 2018

Awesome Prop Day! Stayed there until we got asked to leave. Had many people give away their remaining tokens to our group, so we just kept drinking more variants and cuvees. Our group pulled 2 16s and 2 17s. Got to try all the variants and then some. Was in line for mystery beer 3 times and it was Prop 16 all three times! Gave up and just went yo get more 18 variants.

Worst Cuvee :
Yes, we mixed all 8 with a splash of Dry Hopped 312, it was really horrible!

 

I stand by Midnight. I thought they nailed what the we’re going for. It’s not a pastry stout by any means, but it’s defintley a dessert beer. I thought it towed the line perfectly without going over, and would describe almost like a port wine. It’s meant to sip and 5oz at a time after dinner.

Pastry stouts can be chugged like chocolate milk
- I thought prop was dangerously close to being in this category.

 

I'm in the very small minority that didn't like Vanilla very much. There was SO much vanilla that it covered up almost all traces of a barrel presence for me. I felt like I was taking a shot of vanilla extract - one pour was more than enough. It cannot hold a candle to VR at all, and I'll be sitting on my bottles for quite a long time to see if it balances out.

 

I did not consent to having that much vanilla rammed down my throat.

Does anybody know if Goose is doing another batch of these? I wanted to grab one at Prop Day but missed out. If you have any info or one available please DM me.

 

If so, I’d imagine they’ll be bailable at the taproom

 

The hat they were selling at prop day did not say Bourbon County. It just had the Goose Island logo.
