50 degrees sounds pretty nice compared to some of those lines haha I think what Montman said was right. I think this is going to be more analogous to the anniversary party. Tickets for draft pours, tons of specialty taps where you'll have people show up just to drink and not buy anything. There are more hyped bottles this year, but bottle count is like 3x last year. The super hyped ones are 1pp and at least 450. The glass will likely last a while too. If you aren't trying to get the Sleeping Forever set (5 or 6) or magnums, you should really be able to get there anytime within a couple hours of opening and get everything.

I would 100% expect one of the slowest moving lines you've ever seen there. BUT expect faster than normal beer pours with inside/outside taps and tickets so the wait should be pretty enjoyable once you're in the lot.

On one hand I'm happy it's not 1 4pack/pp like last year. If this was all I wanted getting 3 packs makes it worth a trip alone. I am worried it won't be up to snuff with blackivy since they nixed the Nelson. That citra/nelson NEIPA combo with the roasty malt bill just nailed it for me.

This is the part that sounds awful, with so many varied options/choices the line will probably be just brutally slow.

The Apple Brandy Circle of Wolves release holds my personal record for most inexplicably slow, cold, wet, miserably unhappy line at veil. I think this one will top that out just because there's no way it can't? But they'll have tons of great beer on tap and if the weather being just fine will make it that much more enjoyable so fingers crossed. But I don't see how it can't be near impossible to move the line quickly.

Thoughts of any beers/taps lasting until Saturday?

I have heard from a couple of folks who are thinking about going up Thanksgiving night, but that sounds absurd to me, I absolutely despise how slow Veil is on regular days, let alone for this sort of release.

There will absolutely be things left til Saturday, but I think a great od amount will go Friday (Distants, Honey/lord whang, and white russian horns). Some kegs I’m sure will kick in the first hour max (Paplbearer, Starve B) and I expect there will be others. But they have so much more beer this year that there should be a lot of good options on tap and bottles on Saturday.

They’re doing beer tickets and will be pouring inside and out. If someone just wanted drafts I think going around open Friday is the smart move. If you aren’t lining up for bottles just grab some tickets and grab pours of the things that definitely won’t last. Drafts shouldn’t have lines.

Veil sold out of Broz Night cans around 7:15PM last night. I've been the Tuesday before Thanksgiving 3 years in a row and compared to the prior two years last night was dead. Never a line for cans and I didn't see anyone leave with a case. It seems like the pendulum has swung pretty far from having cans last 2 weeks to having old standbys sell out in ~3 hours. I feel like they have to be canning a whole lot less right now than they were just over a month ago.

Unrelated to Dark Daze but can’t wait for this beer, aged for a year in Apple Brandy Barrels and then transferred to Bourbon Barrels for another year.

    That's without Magnums too haha

Yeah when I heard about this last year it was around the time they did the AB CoW release. I was complaining about how miserable that line was that day and someone said "wait until Double Barrel CoW" and I have been, anxiously, ever since. I will wait in that line because bot AB and BB CoW are absolutely fantastic.

It’s insane, I’ve been here since 9 and there’s still probably and hour line wait left. How do you not have more registers open for an event? At least the beer is good.

I know they got new POS systems ahead of this and they’re supposed to be much better. It’s probablt more a factor of so many items and every order custom made.
