Jumped on a two person line just before five and the dude in front of me was placing an order one four pack at a time from an index card, for pretty much one of everything. I kept thinking there's got to be a quicker way, like "one of everything except blah blah blah".

Drinking the Daydream Layers and it's really nice, got a bit of passion fruit up front, really creamy smooth finish with a pronounced- as I perceive it- floral note (like what I think of when drinking Leffe or another Belgian ale). I'm assuming this is cashmere or Idaho 7.

    Rating a buy.

Agreed. Swung by around 2pm to pick up some cans for Thanksgiving dinner and I've never seen the place so mellow that I decided to hang out for a few pours.

It’s amazing to me how people don’t know what they’re gonna order when they get to the front of a line. It’s not just Other Half either. I always know exactly what I want, usually have an alternative if something I want is out, and I know what it’ll cost me. Is it really that hard?

I’m not joking the guys in front of me were def on something (and not just ooooonnnnn weed). Took ages. The guy working the counter and me looked at each other like wtf

Also when I was there a few weeks ago a woman and her bf/husband took so damn long, then rather than finally consult one of the laminated menus at each POS, she walked back out and picked up the standing menu board and took it back inside with her. Wtf again

Wait so you're telling me that there are people that go to buy cans without memorizing the minutia of all of the current offerings? Why are they allowed to buy beer again?

For real? It’s clear I’m not saying that.

There’s a 1.5 x 3 foot big color board with all the offerings you can read in line. There’s also menus at each POS. Seems unnecessary to me for someone to have to go and pick up the color board (therefore taking away the ability for everyone else waiting to see what’s on offer) and take it in with them to the check out

No I agree with you, I'm just baffled that people know enough to show up to buy cans but can't be bothered to figure out what's being offered before getting there.

I don’t know, maybe people just show up to Other Half, or any other brewery for that matter, and just go to get any cans, no matter what they are. When I show up to a brewery, unless I’m going to hang out, I’m going because of what cans are there and I want them.

When I was at OH last month, it wasn’t a long line, but once I got to the front, the 2 people in front of me took forever and I heard the one guy just kept rattling off can names, some of which weren’t even there. Not sold out, but weren’t even being offered. The other person was clearly muling with a hand truck.

I'm more baffled by those who go to the taproom and line up as soon as they enter to cause a bottleneck by the entrance when the entire bar is wide open. It's amusing to me and the bartenders to see everyone lined up and waiting as I walk right up to the bar and get my cans and pours.

I used to feel bad about doing that but not anymore. You don’t line up when you got out to a bar, why do it at a brewery, especially when the counter is huge and “registers” move?

Definitely guilty of that too. That said if I go in and see it like one or two deep all the way along the bar, but the “line” is like 4 or 5 people, then I’ll go to the line cos that end of the bar tends to get more attention

Really impressed by this version of SDH. If you like coconut this one is almost perfect IMO. Nice balance between chocolate, coffee and coconut, the abv makes it super drinkable and there is no over the top cloying sweetness I have found with a lot of OH stouts.

If OH employees do indeed read these threads, please brew this one again. Not everyone wants to drink 14% sugar syrup bombs.

Totally agree. The prior coffee one (w/o coconut) has the slight edge IMO, but this is right up there. Single digit stouts FTW

Yea I am not a fan of these Diabetes-in-a-bottle stouts they produce.

    SDW for the win.

not too mention 8 cans and 2 stouts for takeaway.

OH has killed it this year. hopefully they take not of trillium's mess and kill it with their expansions as well.
