I thought it was interesting the reports of '17 variants at different stores, including '17 coffee and Northwoods.

I've usually only seen the previous year's regular and barleywine.

Re: PropNilla. Yeah I had this mix and it was insanely good. Also the Triple Barrel BCS yesterday afternoon.

Yeah I was pleasantly surprised to find BCBCS '17 for just $15 but I passed hard on Northwoods at $25. I'm really not shocked NOrthwoods is still available, worst BCBS variant in history IMO.

I was happy to pick up 2 NW for 19.99 at Garfield's yest. I thought it was great.

Had the opposite experience. This one is nothing like OG Bramble. Tastes like someone threw kids’ fruit juice into BCBS. Dreadful effort.

Totally agree on Northwoods. $25 was an easy 'no.' I've had other blueberry stouts that were significantly better.

I will admit I've not had the OG Bramble, but this one was amazing to me. It's such a funny year with these variants. They're tearing everybody apart. They all seem to be absolutely love it or hate it. I'm still waiting to try the coffee barleywine, which I know could either go absolutely great or really really bad for me.. we shall see.

Is Reserve on draft anywhere today?

I think the people that were able to get bottles love them, those who missed out on the variants give bad reviews.

90% of the 'reviews' in here are from draft. Bottle reviews are only just starting to trickle in.

Which is why I stated I think a lot of people are drinking Bramble too cold. I've never had a draft yet of a big beer that was warm enough for me...

I noticed at an event yesterday how the majority of people don’t wait at all and just starting drinking them. The people with flights were more forced into warming them up at least.

I had Bramble at the Goose Island tasting event. It was the last one we tried and had been sitting out for an hour.

It tasted like pure blackberry juice. No barrel or stout comes through. Nothing like OG bramble which was thick and jammy but with strong BCBS base coming through.

I didn't get much "barrel" but I got a very nice rye spice "burning sensation" on the lips entering and spicy finish. Was that tasting event the one outside on a 30 degree day or no?

Initial $0.02, opened 3 bottles yesterday.

2018 is the best fresh regular since 2014.

Reg 2012 is past its prime.

Orange was NOT up my alley. I feel like they got what they were going for but that flavor was not for me. Smelled like the orange candy tootsie roll pop which was nice, and did even out as it warmed but, nah.

So, yeah, if wheatwine is your thing, as of noon, they still have 50 cases (exact count, not an estimation) on a floor stack.

Only 15 cases of coffee barleywine and a handful of bottles of midnight orange.

    I was hoping you'd understand...

A little funny note about muling. I went to the local spot yesterday to get an allotment and there was an older woman who came in behind me. The way my spot did it was to allow a choice between Elijah Craig and Prop. The woman said she wasn't sure which one to choose and admitted to the cashier that she was getting it for her son. She then turned to him a few spots back and asked him which one in front of everyone else in line and he mentions something about being willing taking a Prop.

Not only was the whole thing pretty r/cringe, but if you're going to make family mule for you, which is kind of lame already, at the very least explain what the products are and what someones preference is. If I was going to Sephora for a limited makeup release for my wife, at the very least I'd try and understand what the difference in the palettes was, so I wouldn't appear like *that* much of a noob. Maybe he didn't give a shit but I would've been pretty embarrassed.
