Picked up Alpha Klaus this past week for the first time. Great porter, very drinkable & pretty true to style IMO. Format change was great too, definitely going to pick up another sixer once I finish this one.

25 Million Dollar Man is an easy drinking beer, but nothing special. The bottles and artwork are amazing though. They still have all 3 BA Behemoth and Pillar of the Beast bottles available to go if you don't mind paying those $30+ prices.

I wish the BA Behemoths would hit distro. I just can't make it up there.

I suspect weeks/month. The price point just is too high. 25oz for $35 vs something like VSOJ where you get almost twice as much for the price?

I don't know, unfortunately $30-35 per bottle is about standard for top tier ba barleywine these days. In terms of value VSOJ is the exception and not the norm.

Hell, Anchorage just released A Deal With the Devil "Triple Oaked" at $75 for a 375ml!

The question becomes do these FFF barleywines deserve top tier status...

That may be a new standard but I think fewer and fewer people, especially in the Chicago area, and especially for FFF, are going to go out of their way to pay it anymore. Fatigue...plus the trade hype has faded. Still an excellent beer and I want one very badly.

No, it doesn't deserve top tier status. It is an over the top beer that any brewer could duplicate. No nuance or subtleties that make barleywines great. If it were priced right, it would have sold out by now.

Why don't other breweries do it that well then? I mean I haven't had any of this year's yet, but the '17 Woodford Behemoth I had is only beaten by maybe 5-10 other barleywines I've ever had, at the absolute maximum.

Yes, Sabtos, great point. I agree 100%, I think Behemoth is a top tier BW for sure. Floyd’s may not be the new kid on the block anymore, but this is still a flagship beer.

BA Behemoth is excellent. I can understand someone preferring the English style to the American, but as far as American barleywines go, BA Behemoth is great.

The barrel character shines every single time they do this beer.

Which of the three did you have, and what are your tasting notes?

It's 2019. We don't do "tasting notes." We rate. Then we chug. That's it.

Also, it's 3 Floyd's, so the only tasting note you need is Hops.

If they last until the next Revolution event on December 7, I will definitely stop by to pick some up. I've only had regular Behemoth and would be very interested in trying aged versions.
