FWIW, there is actually a lot of really well priced BCS stuff from past years on Goose's merchandise page right now that'd make nice gifts for beer folks. $5 tees, $10 2017 snifter, etc.

Fair enough. IMO I do think BC reg has more of a dark fruit thing going on with it this year but, all concerns and grievances should be posted on the ground zero of all BCBS threads

Fyi...Binny's Lakeview has 2016/17 regular & bw, also about a dozen bcs tulip glasses $14.99.

I get ya. I just don't understand the gatekeeping of Goose Island. And, shoot, it's not really even Goose Island. Just BCBS is when people demand Illinois driver's licenses be shown at the door to be able to purchase

To play devil's advocate, I'd say it's partially because the stuff is released all over the country now (to places where it will sit for months, in some cases), and yet there's always a huge influx of people coming from all over the country (and world???) to Chicago when it hits. It's a little annoying as an old-school GI fan to watch everyone grab up the bottles I would buy in my hometown, and then hear about how they're shelf turds elsewhere.

Don't get me wrong; 1) I don't chase this stuff nearly as hard as I used to and 2) I'm not going to pretend like Chicago wouldn't gobble this stuff up by itself, but it's still a shitty situation, so I don't blame people for letting the salt flow (just like I wouldn't if this were a different region complaining about FIBs coming in and taking all their local bottles).

This whole thing has gotten to extreme given that someone made their pregnant wife wait to have their baby until they were in line at Binny's Black Friday so they could secure another allocation....#BCBSanchorbabies

Stopped at Kuhn had no prop but had other variants. BE AWARE if you want any BCS they make you buy a twelve of 312 and then you can have a variant. If you want more you need another GI six pack. Reg BCS was 19.99 ea.....walked out refused to buy anything after an hour drive.

Drinking a bramble on draft at goose clybourn right now. Can't believe how tart this is. Love it but can see how others would not.

Just had my one and only Wheatwine. I only got my hands on 2 of the variants this year thus far, this and the Coffee Barleywine. The Wheatwine was much more enjoyable than the Coffee BW. I didn't like the two taste sides competing in the Coffee BW. Just my opinion.

I don't ever think that the BW tastes sweet, so that's my biggest concern with trying the Coffee BW variant. (I'm sure i'm an anomaly here, but given my bitter sensitivity, it's just not something that comes off sweet to me. Any of the years of the BW.)

BeerAdvocate Great Lakes Christmas came early! Usually it doesn’t hit until April or May and in quite a different thread!

    It’s rude to interrupt.

Anyone who would spend over $1,000 on BEER in two days needs their head examined.

It's weird this year. The stages of BCBS are all out of order. Usually the judgement phase happens so much sooner than 72 hours after BF. Also, the entertainment value of this thread peaked dramatically while I was at work today. Usually it's winding down until the "second drop" happens.

Anyone who waited in line for an hour to buy an Anhaueser-Busch product needs to get their head examined. So guess I'm heading to the doctor soon. Seriously though I am 100% certain I could have bought a random barrel aged beer and been just as happy and spent 0 time in line and supported a local business in the process.

Fwiw we really only bought bottles Friday, so that’s just one day.

It does give me great entertainment when people judge and complain about how other people spend their disposable income though. Something I’ve always enjoyed watching.

Oh I don't care how people spend their money. Just to spend $1000 on beer how many different stores would one need to hit up? I think once you hit up more than 3 different stores than it's a bit overkill

well they were over 800 at Binny's, take out the Costco's (for the cheap BCBS which was less than a 100 anyway), and they could have been over 1000 at Binny's plus one Jewel stop
I also don't understand the fascination with how other's spend their money
