meh. Not only is not it that hard in some places if you are traveling a good distance its kinda makes sense.

I would never for BCS but I certainly have at Hill Farmstead.

Yeah, that was my thought. I've made the Vermont & Tree House run a couple times with 2-3 other friends and we all spend around $500. That's what they spent considering it's two of them.

That said, I personally think the double dipping is non-kosher, though minorly so since they waited until after open. One of those things where I wouldn't be that guy, though I get why someone on a trip would do it.

Doesn't HF have limits that prevent that? Or do you go back daily for a week?

Yeah, I think most of us are in agreement that it's bad form; it's not necessarily a huge deal, but you did take an allotment from someone else (and one that you weren't allowed to purchase, by the rules of the event). With that being said, I also agree with you that it's not particularly egregious given the circumstances.

(I probably wouldn't personally mention it on this forum, but I also spend enough time here that I'm aware what people here think of double-dipping, and how they'll react)

Double dipping is a lack of respect for the business and others if the business has intended one allocation per person, in this case Binny's did intend that via the wristbands/tickets. It's not like the offender did some great service by taking unsold merchandise off of Binny's hands, it would have sold.

And now instead of having a nice relaxed event next year where people see you can stroll up at open, all they are going to see is how some jerk double dipped so everyone will now try to do it next year necessitating lining up even earlier...

But he wasn't "that guy"! Didn't you catch how he threw his pregnant wife under the bus??

Believe me, we're in agreement. Maybe a little different on the severity, but everything you said is correct as far as I'm concerned.

Going back doesn't matter. If they set a limit, which they do for only certain releases, it's a limit per person forever, not per person per day. They say their system is able to check names, and though I don't know how thorough it is, I believe them because there's enough people on this forum or other such sites witnessing someone getting banned for trying it. Plus, sometimes enforcing something a few times is enough to 99% eliminate it.

Regardless, it's very easy to spend $500 on a trip to Burlington, Stowe and Greensboro.

I get spending big bucks for the complete Vermont tour, but I thought someone was dropping a grand in one stop at HF which with their limits seemed impossible to do.

Yeah, probably not a good idea/look to admit on here that your wife went back and double-dipped, taking an allotment away from someone else, or that you came here and bought up 70+ bottles of BCBS and variants when other people are struggling to find even just one of each variant. I don't care who you are, or if you're from out of town or not. I had a chance to double dip on VSOJ, Benthic, and BCBS on Black Friday this year. I was so early in line, I could have easily gotten back in line, and grabbed another allotment at each event. I didn't. Because I'm not greedy. Others should get to enjoy the beer that I do.

I went and got more BCBS at other places than the Jewel where I was 3rd in line, where I could have easily spun back around and grabbed another allotment. I grabbed another Benthic at a Binny's in distro, rather than swinging around to try and double-dip since I was 30th in line. That's fine, if you want to do that, IMO. But I'm not going to go to a release event and specifically take beer out of someone else's hands because I'm a greedy fuck that wants to have it to drink year round.

No one should tell you how to spend your disposable income, that's fine. But you also shouldn't come on here bragging about how your preggo wife got to double dip at Binny's in LP, and swipe two allotments, therefore taking one away from someone else who was waiting in line, or couldn't get there as quickly as others. Whether they were already open or not, it's ignorant shit. I see it no different than the couple who took 6 of each variant(and no regular) at the Benthic release a couple weeks ago since HA wasn't monitoring/accounting for the specific bottles people seemed to be taking. It's ignorant shit. Plain and simple. And you should deservedly catch flack for it on here. I don't give a rat's ass if you're from out of town, or not. Abide by the rules, or don't come here for the beer. Go be a shitlord somewhere else.

A full grand between 2 people would be really extreme, but not impossible. Less insane if you counted onsite. I think the initial poster was rounding up a bit to get to a grand anyways.

They’ll set limits on special weekly releases (per person total, not just per day or per week, usually the wine or bourbon barrel aged beers) but on their normally available beers, there are either none, or case limits, cans also (sometimes 3 6ers pp). So tomorrow for instance someone could definitely spend 1k alone on 1 case each of Arthur, Anna, Florence, Brother, Suarez; 1 syrup, 2 clover, and 3 6ers ea of all the can offerings.

I know we all love to jump down the throats of dudes rolling up with pregnant wives, but I thought Binny's didn't necessarily forbid going through the line twice? We know that in 2015, people were going through 2-3 times.

Binny's did explicitly state no drinking/open containers, no open flames, etc. I'll assume everyone else is just as worked up about people breaking those rules. :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyways, I had my bottle of vanilla last night and I really, really liked it. Yes it was vanilla overload, not balanced at all, and tasted like a vanilla chocolate cookie with slight booze heat, but I loved it.

In cases like this (BCBS and rare beer releases)I'm more or less against double-dipping regardless of whether or not it's explicitly against the rules, but I believe you're right that they didn't mention whether it was one allotment per person. I wasn't there though, so who knows.

Also, I don't really have an issue with the whole "pregnant wife" thing, because it's not my place to judge what other people do for fun.
I love that discussing whether vanilla sucks or not is the new "soooo...how about dem Bears?"

Double dipping is unsanitary. Put the requisite amount of salsa on the chip the first time around, you savage.
