How did IP vip tickets go today?

 

Anyone get tix in person? How about today online? Curious to know. I have way too many El Cat coming and am also attending Huna day again, which will be plenty of fun as usual. I'm sure Wakefest will feature a lot of rare stuff, but 2 Florida fests in a month and a half is a bit too much.

 

Whiff for me this year on VIP

 

I saw the queue actually, looked like it worked pretty smoothly compared to other sites, and it's interesting that it shows you your place in line in real time-ish.

 

Yeah but what sucks is that your place in line is assigned randomly. People on FB saying they queued up right as it went live getting #1500 and people who queued up at 11:50 getting #375 and whatnot.

 

I queued up at 11:40 and was #1236. Currently #705 at 12:11. Hopefully all the bottles are left for purchase...

 

What’s the point of a “line” if you’re randomly assigned. If I would’ve known that I would’ve had it open on multiple devices

 

That's whack. I clicked on it after noon just to see how they did it (didn't want to be part of the initial rush and slow the first people down) and I was 145 in line, and dropped in after a few minutes. I hate that stuff, same garbage happens for other rare beer sales.

It does say VIP is sold out atm.

 

Exactly what they're trying to avoid I guess. Sucks though.

 

NOW my question is... will I be able to see what bottles are available for sale before buying my GA ticket?? Not sure if it'll be worth the flight if I can't get a good selection to take back

 

I think it will give you options after you already give your payment info. I didn't go that far though but when I saw the order of steps that's what it seemed to me.

Never been to fest, splurge for VIP. Had issues with bottles. Got a GA ticket for the GF and I was able to add a couple of bottles for her. Not an easy interface. Let's hope VIP is worth it.

 

yeah what the fuck is wrong with the bottles? followed their instructions and was able to see the "other products you may like" or whatever page a couple times and add a few things but never again. I'm really souring on this. Did they make it right with the bottle sales after this happened last year?

 

I ended up being able to get 6 bottles (tape rock, maple desperado, bl 1/2, more kicks, and BA boutit). Bottles didnt shop up until the "other products you like" and had to do two transactions to get them. Bottle adding was super screwy

 

Holy shit, what a mess. I got my GA tix, a Tape Rock, and a Desperado. You basically had to select your tix, enter all your personal info/cc#, click "next" (not "keep shopping" as JWB put in their FAQ), and ot would take you to a shitty-designed horizontal menu where you pick the bottles...but you can only select one bottle/allotment at a time and you have to enter your personal/cc info for every goddamn item that you add to your cart. And I still had the option to purchase more bottles AFTER I completed my transaction.

 

I'M OUT! After SO MUCH reentering my info and trying to do what the J wake people said to do to add bottles and switching it up and trying other methods, I was able to get 3 bottles in my cart. But fuck that I want full available allotment! Why did they make this so difficult? It has to be on purpose right? I saw people saying the same thing happened last year?

Why try and do it through some shady/shitty program on your own website and not through Eventbrite or something?!?

There needs to be a lot more transparency with how this is supposed to work. The “waiting in line” thing was bullshit. Just say it’s a lottery if it’s going to be. Say how many bottles of each you have and how many you have left. Another release shitshow

 

Seemed to work as they stated for me! Opened the ticket link as soon as they posted it, didn’t refresh my browser at all and was let immediately in when it went live at 12. Didn’t want to take any chances dicking with bottles and missing VIP, so I paid immediately for my VIP ticket, and success!

After that, I was able to add a GA ticket to my cart for the wife, fill out her info, hit keep shopping and add all bottles. Had to select each bottle one at a time, select quantity of 1 (or 2 for some) and “add to cart” and then “keep shopping” to select the next. There were a few times I hit keep shopping and no bottles were visible but after hitting back and then keep shopping again they appeared. Today’s my birthday so luck may have just been on my side
