    On a whim, thinking all the variants sold out on Friday, I stopped at the small-town liquor store a few blocks from my house yesterday and found variants on the shelf;

    Regular $13 ($8.89 at Costco)
    Wheatwine $13 (got one)
Midnight Orange $20 (got last two)
Bramble Rye $20 (nearly a case still sitting there)
Vanilla price was $20 but gone (bummer)

I'll have to stop there sooner next year. I suspect that Bramble Rye will wait on the shelves for someone who hasn't tried it, because I expect many that have will pass due to the tartness. It's still decent but I'll take the other three variants first.

I like to have the previous years regular around every thanksgiving. Drank some 2017 last night and it's drinking really nicely. Pure caramel and vanilla with the bourbon hotness being weaved in seamlessly with the base stout. Desert stout without the adjuncts

Anyone in the Norfolk, VA area with NOB base access the package store has an entire endcap damn near full of bottles. Guessing the large military population in the area is happy to drink PBR and Coors Light. Tons of the base available at no limit for $11.99. No Bramble Rye spotted but plenty of Vanilla and Midnight Orange also at no limit with a price of $22 a bottle.

Wow, I wish our area got Bramble, I really liked Bramble when I tried it on draft. We didn't see Bramble in Austin (that I saw), but Wheat wine is plentiful and one local grocery store has a lot left. Crazy how different get places got so much, so little of some of variants.

Scored a bottle of Midnight orange today.
Called a few places after work. Most had the BCBS no variants. Prices from 12.99 to 15.99 to $20. Only a few had the variants [orange & vanilla, orange mostly). Most sold out by now. Only 2 that I found had the Midnight Orange. One was godly over priced at $40 a bottle. While the other was $28. Luckly someone priced em at 24.99 so he had no choice but to sell it at that price.
Said they recieved a second shipment in today, besides the one on Friday. Will be calling more stores thru out the week just to see if this is a reoccurring thing.
    As for the Midnight Orange...
Found it fantastic! Very well balanced and delicious. Just the right amount of everything.

You need to do it through the provided trade system, and even there you need to make a trade, not buy outright.

Local grocer Heinen’s has the best price I’ve seen here for growlers: $30 for 64 ounces of live sustaining stout. To contrast, I bought 8 ounce pours for $14. Cheers!

Where did you see it for $10 in Chicago? Jewel and Binny's were $12-13 this year.

I don't know specifically about Chicago, but many/most Costos that carry beer have it for $8.89. Variants aren't any cheaper than other places though.

Last year our Costco had a limit of 1 per customer, but lifted the limit Saturday afternoon when there were 3 cases left. I spotted a guy grabbing two cases, only $213. Damn, that's about same price as KBS per ounce.

    Update:

They apologized for the beer not tasting right and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. The person that emailed me assured me that they will pass the info along to their quality assurance team.

They are sending me a $30 check as thanks for bringing the issue to their attention.

I applaud Goose customer service for the way they handled my complaint of the beer tasting bad. Over and above in my opinion. I honestly didn't even expect a reply.

Small update for my area. Same amounts still generally there at my area store. 2 cases bramble/ 2 wheatwine/8-10 regular. CBS may be collecting even more dust. Price increase is hurting them. Atleast for my area. Only generally sold out product was some ba expedition stout. 500ml and bomber section just stacking up.

I was surprised to walk into the grocery store on Monday and see 12 cases of Midnight Orange sitting on the floor. I bought 1 bottle, opened it last night, and man I am really not feeling it. The sound of an orange BBA stout never really sounded appealing to me, but I kept reading good reviews so I figured I was just lacking in imagination. Nope, the orange does not go with the base beer at all, and ends up tasting medicinal to me. If I had drank this blind, I would not ever guess that its a BCBS variant. I’m glad I only bought one.

Good God man, averaging over 1 per day you certainly need to pick up a case (or 3) of the regular or risk running out :astonished::wink:
