I will second the endorsement of Cone Crusher and Deal with the Devil. I miss Devil in the Rye, since you have Drew’s ear.

 

I wish they would release a variety pack or something. They brew way too many of the same style beers to chose a single 4 pack when I see their stuff in the store. I always get decision anxiety and chose something else. I look at the cans see DIPA DIPA DIPA IPA PA and am like "which of these 3 Double IPAs should i take home?" then i buy something from a different brewery. I wish I didn't have to go to Hammond to have their stuff on draft. It's not exactly somewhere I want to linger while I get sober. At least the Gary location is near Miller Beach? In spring you could walk the beach while sobering up.

 

My favorite is Undercrown; old school AF.

Stopped in at Scarlett Lane's new Southside location this weekend... bourbon barrel aged Olga is fantastic. Also, smart business plan to serve this big stouts with big jars of cookies for sale on the bar. Definitely indulged.

 

So is byway any good or not? I'm parked in downtown highland waiting for pierogi place to open and thinking of picking up a crowler or something. I have alpha Klaus in fridge

 

I've been twice and the first time was horrible but the second time was only awful. Shit for beer and they served it in plastic glasses last time I was there (summer 17). I think they deserve to do a collaboration with the St John Malt dudes.

 

That bad huh? I stopped anyway. Wasn't great but anything that makes me listen to AC/DC is good. I went out to Momence IL for thanksgivng and the hosts love malt brothers because apparently it's relatively close. Only time I ever had malt brothers it exploded on me.

 

Not to split hairs, but I believe there was an unholy colaboration between St John Malt Bros and Byway. But I guess that has nothing on Crown recent collab with Bosak Motors.

 

What? Anyway on the recommendation of some random dude in line for Bourbon County I headed to Griffith for some New Oberpalz. Didn't realize there were like 3 breweries on the same block. Anything else worth heading back that way another day?

 

For me, New Oberpfalz is the best in Griffith. Beer Geeks bar in Highland is solid. You can check out the draft list online.

 

My dentist is down the street from beer geeks. I wonder if he would abort a filling if I smelled like beer

 

So I found Sixpoint Resin at the Liquor Stop in Highland yesterday. I was happy as a pig in shit. But, are they distributing here now? Or just a very eager to please business owner trying to one up the cask n cellar across the street? Oh Beer Geeks has CBS on draft?

 

Sixpoint has been distributed in my area as long as I've been into beer since 2016. So it might have just been the store not ordering from the distributor.

 

What part of Indiana are you in? Because I live in Northwest Indiana and stopped at probably the 2 best beer stores you can find without crossing state lines and have never seen it. Even took a ride out to a binnys in IL asking about it and they said they stopped distributing 6 years ago. Apparently I can custom order a few things at this place which I might just try. I've always wanted to try their stuff. You shop at beer specialty stores or is it everywhere?

 

Cask n Cellar on Indianapolis in Highland had BA 4Beans yesterday.

 

I'm in the Muncie area. And it isn't everywhere as far as the grocery stores or places like that. But it's at pretty much any liquor stores that have an alright craft beer selection.

 

I don't go crazy about too much Sixpoint stuff, but I had BA 3 beans last year and BA 4 beans earlier this week and those are always just solid, well made & true to the Baltic Porter style. I enjoy them.
