This is definitely true. I had heard they kegged 30% of everything this year (as opposed to around 10% last year)

saw a handful of posts and reviews mention regular 2018 being more dark fruit forward than previously. the first bottle i had i drank directly after having a bottle of 2017 and i didn't notice it. having my second bottle of regular 2018 now and i definitely notice it. for me it's not a bad thing as i like hints of fruit tastes in stouts, but i can definitely see now what people were talking about in regards to 2018.

This hasn’t proven to be true in Chicagoland so far. Multiple tap takeovers have had everything but Reserve so far

Agreed. I had it on tap Sunday at Whole Foods and totally got the dark fruits...way different to my palate than prior years. I would prefer it not to be there...just not what I want in the OG BCBS.

Just want to say that I can't stand people using OG for "Original" when OG has a seperate meaning (similar, but distinct and seperate). This is particularly vexing when people are referring to a non-variant version of a beer (i.e. Regular) rather than to a particular vintage or series that may be referred to (correctly) as OG.

I mean, BCBS is the OG version of BCBS and its variants, so it's not that incorrect. It's literally the OG of bourbon barrel-aged stouts.

We're also using a slang abbreviation for "original gangster" to refer to a beer, so I feel like there are quite a few angles we can criticize here.

Wait, I thought we were referring to original gravity this whole time.

Most of these guys here are much better at standing in line for beer than learning how to brew it themselves so I highly doubt it.

Did Old Granddad BCBS see bottles or was it draft only?

I'm gonna time myself typing them both out:

    OG - .2 seconds
    Original - .4 seconds

More time to stand in line for beer!

Year after year we can count on you to update us on the stores you know about with variants, but without ever sharing the details on location. Surprised it took this long for your first post this year like this one!
