Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

I just don't really like bombers anymore. It's fun to drink that much in one sitting, but I'd rather have multiple (fresh) goes at a beer than one big one. I agree in pricing, though.

I'm trying to think of the fruited BA beers (not counting coconut)that I like better...maybe Currants, maybe Code Switch...But yeah, Clare's is awesome.

Haymarket's BA program is one of my favorites in the city, especially because it's still kinda quiet. Their Indignant flight (differently aged, ranging from like...4 months to 3 years, or something) is one of the coolest things anyone around here has done, and there ~18-24 month Indignant is one of my favorite BA stouts, as is Clare's.

 

Don't forget that the reason Dark Lord Day costs so much now is because of Mikerphone's "crazy" stout prices.

 

Doesn't some of that money for Clare's get donated to charity? Remember selecting animal shelters when finalizing purchase.

 

Remember when you could buy bottles of Vanilla Bean Dark Lord year round at the brewpub? Then Mikerphone had to open and ruin everything.

 

They may be doing a similar ruse that Mikerphone first employed where they were purportedly using Pale Pauper Day ticket proceeds to help the local VFW Post fund a new elevator.

 

Damn it guys...I shouldn't be considering getting more beer (Clares) but now these reviews are making me itchy.

 

price point must have spooked a lot of people, last year tix sold out same day

 

Thread reminiscent of 1980s Counsel Wars, though beer obviously carries a far greater significance.

 

I picked up the 4 God Damn Pigeon porter variants at Vas Foremost, last month picked up the half acre four milk stout variants at their next door neighbor. These are two of my favorite breweries, so glad they offered this for all.

Can't wait to pick up the Hostile Harry 4 pack when I return from Vegas after Christmas.\

I saw that there was some tap event, but has Might Meets Right been released yet for this year?

Yeah, last release was February. So I would assume early 2019

 

Anyone heard anything on BA PCL?

 

Stopped in at lunch today based on your recommendations fellas. They had 2 of the 3 BA bottle releases from last year. The BA brown and the BA barleywine, Barleybomba, (aged in bourbon, rum AND brandy) which I cracked tonight and throughly enjoyed. They also still had all 5 of the BA Luchador bottles released a couple weeks ago. I had Señor Incognito (Imperial stout w/ coconut, pecans, Mexican cinnamon and canela aged in rye whiskey barrels and was really, really impressed. Also picked up some of their wine BA fruited saisons which were all available. Pretty pumped as what I had was high quality and they’re only six blocks from my office. Peaked at the food coming out to those there for lunch and I can’t wait to go back for a meal. Can’t imagine they’ll be a secret for too much longer.

 

Nice. I honestly had no idea. I’ll be stopping by Cruz Blanca for lunch tomorrow.
