Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

Cruz Blanca is quite possibly the most underrated brewery in the Chicago.

 

Guys, please stop or Mikerphone is going to ruin Cruz Blanca, too.

 

Assuming you are referring to personal chain letter; it is very good. I have had it numerous times on draft and gone through two bombers. ALOT of barrel but still smooth to drink.

 

Yeah, but was 18 released, is what I'm asking? I had a 17 with some buddies at a share, but none of us had heard anything about 18...

 

Pretty sure it was released in September during their 4th anniversary party

 

Yes, it has been out for awhile and was available at the tap room for weeks. Pretty sure it is sold out by now...

 

Apparently I wasn't paying attention to the BA releases early enough. Lol.

On the real, they have my favorite tacos in the city.

Cruz Blanca is interesting though. They're not really a secret at all. Walk in from 6-9 and that place is typically packed. They're doing so well with their restaurant business that they don't really need to covet and market heavily to the niche hypestout craft community, but those products are there if that's what you're into.

I like the approach, to be honest

 

He's not my go-to when I want something "super authentic," but Rick Bayless does awesome stuff with Mexican food. Even his grocery store salsa is great.

I started seeing them pop up on the shops I follow on IG so must be hitting distro this week

 

Just got an email from Pipeworks, Jones dog and its variants released in the Dojo this Thursday at 3PM...

This one will continue to escape me.

 

You're a week late. They were available last Thursday. I'd suggest following the Pipeworks thread to be on top of their releases.

Also, Jones Dog and Hyper Dog both lasted for quite some time last time they were released, so I'd say you did a better job of escaping it, as opposed to it escaping you. I'm guessing they have a lot of it to go around this time as well, so unless you're out of town for the next 2-3 Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, I'm guessing you'll be good to grab some.

 

Damnit. I was out of town last week and planned on hitting up pipeworks for jonesdog. Now I’m gonna have to wait in line.

 

Man, I can't keep up with all these releases!

 

There's no point, imo. You pick the ones you want most, concentrate on those, and then let fate decide the rest.

There's a ridiculous amount of BA stuff out right now.
