Dark Lord Day (2019)

I thought Brotilla was outstanding. Easily one of my top 3 from DLD last year. The bonus was there was like no line for it...

 

Lounge was the best variant this year. Better than Chem or Handjee IMO.

GTM was by far the worst. Turtledogg most people would rate low too, but if you like scotch and smoky beers it is a pretty good sipper.

FVM is too sweet.

Spaceforce! is pretty good. Especially if the coffee is prominent.

The wine variants were actually all pretty good.

HDQ also quite good.

 

I got the chance to try both draft of '18 FVM and bottle of '16 FVM at the fest (I'd had '17 of my own bottle at home some time prior to '18 DLD).

Yeah '18 wasn't quite the masterpiece '16 was, but it really wasn't that far off. It was still delicious, a little too coffee forward more than anything else if you ask me.

Prop Day is over- it's onto the next great bottle release.

 

According to Darlordday.info the date was announced on October 23rd last year. We are already way behind! I’m assuming the variants are infected and the fest is cancelled. See you all in 2020

 

Think they are focused on the distillery and they haven't started construction on the new expansion yet, which they were supposed to do right after DLD 2018. My money is on them having it in 2019-it's just to big a money maker, good publicity and it's their calling card- but maybe late construction in the industrial park forces a hiatus for a year?

 

Didn't the brewery burn down?

Let's get ready toooooooooo RUM............................. barrel aged a beer and then double barrel age with tequila followed by adjuncting it with some old shoes, ash and DDH with Equanot hops. That's the new variant.

Pay more attention to craft beer news. Nobody does tequila barrel aging! You just mix in the Cuervo.
