Man, I knew it was going down this way, but our third kid is due on May 10, so my streak of DLDs is probably out unless they change the event to make it kid friendly. I think my wife will sign up for anything that I take the 2 older kids to when the baby is here, but even if kids were allowed I doubt the mosh pit public peeing debauchery is something I could explain to my 6 year old.

My 3 year old would probably just think it’s a normal day at daycare.

 

See here son, these are the degenerates daddy chooses to spend his time with when he tells mommy he is "working." Don't be like daddy.

 

Your kids might handle it better than a good chunk of the attendees if they aren't lightweights. Plus they can still get nap time!

I’m pretty sure they allow shares at all the hotels. I’m only staying Saturday night, so no Friday night share for me. The breakfast is decent (and free), plus there’s a brewery across the street. I stayed there last year and it was a good time.

 

It's a hotel. Don't see any reason why you couldn't bring in booze/beer.

 

i stayed in Hammond last year but can’t remember which hotel at the moment.

 

So it looks like Chicago Open Air Fest is the same weekend as DLD. Wonder if there will be an overlap in talent (or if Open Air might snatch up Dark Lord headline-caliber groups for its midcard).
