Aw man, really? I was there around 4p and they must have straight up lied to me (if you're saying it was in the bar).

Just called around to a few different WFs including CC and they are all sold out. If anyone sees it out there still, let me know...

Yeah, it was in the bar. You must have barely missed it, if it was gone by 4---my receipt says I paid at 3:42, and there were at least five or six left after the one I bought.

It seemed like Bramble was almost as rare as Reserve. Anyone know if a lot less was made than Vanilla and other variants this year or was it just the way distro landed in NYC?

Via Top Hops IG. Doubt they have any Reserve left because they stated they only had 5 but in case anyone is out there looking still:

Had a coffee barleywine over the weekend and it was such a disappointment. Not in the sense that it was a bad beer, but the thought of "they scrapped BCBCS for this" couldn't get out of my head the entire time.

Such a weird decision. For most people (me included) I feel like BCBCS was here [holding hand parallel to ground at eye level] and the rest of the BCBS line up started here on down [moving hand gracefully to chest level]

Exactly what I said. I got virtually no coffee from it. Tasted like a worse version of the original barleywine.

They basically fucked up two batches of beers and marketed as a new beer for twice the price.

The wheatwine however...wow I’m glad I have 2 bottles to age. So good!

The wheatwine reminds me of Backwoods Bastard. Except it's a little hot and more expensive.

i disagree, i am not a fan of scotch ales and i thought the wheatwine was much more of a caramel and butterscotch taste to me.

Sad to say that the coffee barleywine from the bottle is, as described above, almost devoid of coffee flavors. It doesn't taste remotely like the tap version. I'd suggest adding an ounce of cold brew to this beer and never buying Bourbon County again.

at $34.99 a pop, are these people really that lucky, or are those of us not in range of Top Hops actually the lucky ones with that $34.99 in our pockets !

Actually $33.99 each at Top Hops. Pricing in the city has ranged from $28 to $40. Whole Foods was the only outlier at $23.99. Given how expensive it is to run a bottle shop in the city I get they need to charge a bit more.
