hope i just got a bad bottle last year, but the rye was nearly undrinkable.

I'm guessing you got a bad bottle. I bought the rye on the recommendation of someone who drank it last year and said it was amazing.

 

Rye was definitely great last year; can't speak for this one.

 

I second what you say, it was a good vintage fresh.

 

Rye is awesome. I was totally blown away by the rye the year the bourbon won Fobab.

 

I actually found a bottle of 2016 Rye at a random bodega recently...looks like that's the FOBAB winning vintage!

 

I had this last year on tap and did not find it to be great. It was good, but nothing that stands out. Just my 2 cents.

I had a pour of Abraxas last night at Whole Foods while having dinner. Good beer, but an 8 oz pour is plenty. Don’t need a 750 ml bottle for $25.

 

Does anyone know when Prairie stouts start dropping? I feel like Bourbon Paradise, Vanilla Noir, Pirate Bomb, and Pirate Noir were all dropping around now last year?

 

I’ve heard Binny’s won’t be getting anymore Prairie stuff for the foreseeable future. Apparently some issues with that distributor. I’m not holding my breath on getting those this year.

 

Shelton Bros? Didn't this happen in like 2014?

 

Last year, the beer manager at the Binny's I frequent told me that he can't stand Prairie distro. He said they never let them know how much of what they order that they're actually getting, or when it's going to arrive.

I've also seen people post recently that their "Binny's guy" has said that Binny's is done with Prairie altogether for 2019 going forward.

 

Maybe we can get American Solera instead.

 

So is this just a Binny's issue or a problem with every beer store?

 

Downstate in CU we haven't seen any BA Prairie beer since BA Bible Belt. What was that, 2 years ago? I asked at Binnys and basically we can get Bomb and their sours. Other than that, they have no idea what or if they'll get any of the sought after stuff. They've basically stopped ordering lots of stuff since they have no clue what BA stuff they'll get. Bomb sells, but the others sit.

 

Bourbon Paradise is brewery only this year, and no news on the others yet(I am a Prairie Dawg member and we get first shot at all these)

 

Definitely later last year. Maybe Jan or Feb? Not December though.

 

Echoing rumors of Binny's not getting Prairie anytime soon and the distro being a real pain to deal with.

 

I was a lot more impressed with Prairie last year.
