Good thing too, as obviously all Belgian beers are the same. :s

And to the OP: that happens sometimes. I'm obsessed with stouts and porters, but sometimes I just don't feel like them. If I'm in a non-stout mood I tend to go IPA most of the time, if not wheat beer.

There are people that think most Belgians have a similar background flavor(maybe yeast) to them. I sure do.

He could even go for the skinnier one first and the thicker one second. This way he can say he followed the first up with a chubby chaser!

I usually love eating cheeseburgers. CHEESEBURGERS CHEESEBURGERS CHEESEBURGERS. But tonight, I pulled into the Mcdonalds drive thru and just didn't want a cheeseburger, so I ordered a chicken sandwich instead. Surprisingly, it tasted pretty good! Since my first time going to Mcdonalds, I've always gotten cheeseburgers! This is so weird. Am I going to be okay? Is this a slippery slope towards not even liking food anymore? Please help!

You'll be fine! That's almost as stupid as freaking out of getting tired of a certain beer and....oh.

Actually, to the OP, like most everyone else has said, I think it goes in waves. Just drink what tastes good.

Your probablly going through a phase. I have gone through several similar phases. The craziest was proabablly me staying away from hoppy beers (IPA's and DIPA's) for about 2 years. Like most people right after I discovered craft beer I went straight for the hops and was obsessed with trying all the IPAs and DIPAs I could but after a few years it just wore. The IPA's and DIPAs all started tasting more similar too me even though my pallat should have been getting better. I started appreciating more subtle flavors and choosing Pilsners, Hefe's, Kolsch etc as my go to beer rather than IPA's and started drinking several different kinds of Belgians when I wanted something stronger. This lasted about 2 years untill slowly but surely I started to get back into hops. Now I am more well rounded then ever but I am currently in a bit of a stout phase.

Exactly, Dennoman, and there is no denying that Belgian beers, regardless of their sub-style, have very similar tasting characteristics. Just as Lagers do, IPAs do, etc.

This happened to me about 2 years ago with IPAs and anything much hoppier than a fairly mild Pale Ale. Give it time...I very recently noticed my preference for IPAs and DIPAs has been returning! Don't give up.

I will say that at the same time, I've been noticing a decline in my desire for bourbon barrel aged brews, scotch ales, and russian imperial stouts (which made up about 80% of what I was drinking in the last 2 years).

Tastes change and people go through phases...just go with it and drink what strikes your fancy regardless of past preferences.

I was drinking torpedo all day, and later that night I got the flu. Have just gotten
back to being able to drink IPAs again, it'll be a long time before I have another torpedo. Sad.

I agree. I'm sort of in that phase now. I've spent the past couple months stocking up on seasonal stouts and now I barely feel like drinking them, instead opting for IPA's and Belgians

I have had this happen with Gumballhead. It was the beer that got me into craft beer and was one of my favorites for years. The last couple of times I have had it I don't enjoy it. Tastes change and fortunately 3F makes many others I enjoy.

Belgian Darks of all types...used to love em, especially back in the day.
Now they're kind of daunting. Not feeling em.

    lately, imperial stouts too.

Black IPAs, or whatever they're called now. My first was Speakeasy's Midnight Run and I loved it. Had it a year or so later and was really disappointed. Every time I try the style now I'm just not into it.

This article sums it up perfectly. And the second "cure" is usually my approach when I've hit a wall - just switch to some simpler lagers, I like something really crisp and pretty highly carbonated, and your palate will start to crave fuller flavors again. Giving advice on how to fight through the urge not to drink seems a bit strange, but I trust it's all in the name of responsible enjoyment!

Exactly you need a palette cleanser every now and then. I absolutely love stouts but ill switch it up with some lagers every once and awhile maybe a IPA here and there then easy back in to the darker style with a nice brown ale such as Moose Drool from Big Sky brewing great transition back into stouts or porters.

It's like how I was really into watching Asian lesbian ****. I would JO all the time to Asian lesbo **** and I seemingly couldn't get enough. Sure I would occasionally dip by ween's into some spicy mustard to see how it felt, or watch some S&M shit just to see what they think they are doing, but I kept watching Lu Chen and Wing dyk it out.

Then one time, after a vacation to Canada and no internet, I came back and my ween's was all like "I am tired of u rubbing me out to azn wymn." And now I am REALLY worried that I can never spank to siamese ever again. To the OP, I have hope for you, if only because if you can drink porters again, I might have hope of emptying my nuts to asian women on asian women again.

    Cheers!

Drank many, many Belgians of various kinds years ago.
Have no desire to now, and I don't see that changing much.

Drank many, many imperial stouts years ago.
Continue to do so on a routine basis throughout the year to this day.

I try not to overthink it.
