Took a trip up on Saturday.... you know what that means, something good will drop in the next few days to have me pinching myself for my poor timing (Bones Shirt, where are you?). Haha.

Flanders wasn’t on tap but Whistlin’ was. Good as I remember from previous batches. Palatine was tasting lovely too. Standout for me this trip was Small Talk. Absolutely delicious flavor to it. Melony, floral, maybe? I am reluctant to try to describe Suarez beers for fear of not doing them justice. I did think to myself that it reminded me of the first time I had Yellow Rose out of Texas, but crisper, drier and a touch prickly.

I also got a growler of Round the Bend to go. First time I bought a 750 growler from there, go figure. The beer reminds me of tobacco and cigars with the slightes sweetness and such a low-key carbonation to it that it could almost be a cask beer or something.

I am pretty sure Small Talk is popping up all around BK at the usual spots so I would recommend that for the city folk.

I took the ride up today. It is a hike for me but well worth it.
The Porter-Round the Bend is beyond reproach . Toasty and cocoa just about perfect.
I also tried Hecto-a hoppy pale. Another wonderful beer. I could have had 5 of each if it wasn't for the long drive home.

Hi guys - quick question - I'm going to be passing by Saurez this Friday around 11 or 12, just before their 1pm open - I've never been there before - is this the kind of place where they are ok with you stopping by to pick up a couple bottles / four pack of Pilsner if they're around? Or not? Thanks!

You mean before they open? I don't think so honestly. But you can call the brewery to ask - number is on their website.

Yes, before they open. I'll give them a call and see if they answer. Barreled Souls up in Maine and OEC in CT, among many other breweries do that sort of thing, but I think it depends on things like local laws, demand for their beer, and of course ability / willingness of the owners / brewers. Thanks!

Be sure to report back with your findings! I never really gave this consideration. Two hours may be before anyone plans on being on site, but either way, let us know!

Carton also did this for me about 3 years ago. I had an interview at NOAA in Sandy Hook which ended at 10AM, well before Carton opened that day. I emailed them a few days before and they filled growlers for me so I could stop in real quick since they were there brewing. Class acts.

I imagine, if there is staff available at the time, that Suarez may be able to accomodate you since I’ve heard nothing but good things about the brewers, owners and staff.

    Good luck.

Success! They couldn't have been nicer! I emailed them and they said no problem to drop by to grab some bottles / cans to go.
