I had a six pack of Sweetwater IPA and it was absolutely delicious. I don't think people give it evough credit round here!

Despite its average ratings here, I'm a huge fan of Baltika's #6 Baltic porter, and I think it's one of the best examples of the style.

I agree that Sweetwater IPA is great.

Drifter Pale Ale. This is my go to pale ale and at $6.99 a 6 pack it's one of the best values overall. I will take it over any widely available pale ale and over most other beers in the price range.

Rogue gets shit on a lot for their business practices and the quality of their beers, but their chocolate stout is still one of my favorites. Some of that might be nostalgia since it's the beer that really got me turned on to stouts when I was in grad school, but I can always drink and enjoy it.

Love the beer. Problem is its only in 5 states I think. None of them near me. Every time I am in TN I buy a case or two to bring home. Great grapefruit taste in this one.

    Enjoy

I agree on the sweetwater. I am a big fan of the red hare as well. Average reviews on their IPA an brown ale, but I think they are excellent. The brown ale reminds me of dogfish brown ale.

Can we define "average" with respect to acclaimed?

Ha, I saw a forum that someone had said highly acclaimed beers that were underwhelming and I was kind of tired of people saying certian beers sucked. I understand acclaimed would be talking more about something that is praised or thought highly of, but I thought people would understand what I was talking about.

I think Fort George Vortex IPA is underrated, it's excellent IMO.

I don't think it has any acclaim, but I love Infinium while the majority of people on this site hate it.

Winter's Bourbon Cask Ale is probably the lowest rated beer (67) that I thought was pretty good. One of the best BMC beers I ever had (an admittedly low benchmark).

I'm with you on being tired of people hating on beers.
Only asked because I wasn't sure if Great Divide 18th Anniv. Wood Aged DIPA qualifies as highly acclaimed or not.
Or are we just talking whales?

Regarding the GD 18th, expected a decent effort for what it's labeled/presented as and I love the brewery, but it easily exceeded my expectations.

Yeah, I was talking about everything, you know I used Sweetwater IPA as inspiration, but I am interested where the thread will go. I also liked the Great Divide 18th Anniversary, too.

I don't hear or see much about Rogue's Double Chocolate Stout, but it's my favorite beer. Everything about it hits my pallate just the right way. I fucking love it.

I need to revisit this beer.
Preferred the Vampire Slayer, but I'd like to do a side by side.
