Understandable, but if it was yeast, it doesn't really make sense because they should be able to propagate it (not indefinitely, but it could defer some cost), unless my understanding of commercial brewing is wrong.

I thought someone like FR or Hop Butcher found consistency went way off if they tried to propagate those NEIPA style yeast strains?

Jimmy's in downtown Naperville has Maine Beer Co Dinner on tap right now, for anyone interested.

Thanks! Is it a buck an ounce like Bitter Pops had it?

Is dinner that much better than lunch?

Yes. It’s similar to how King Sue was back before TG changed it to a NEIPA

It's really good if you are somewhat close by.

If you have to drive 45 minutes or an hour or something like that, I would bet you won't taste the hype.

$8 for 10oz, so not too bad. It was very good. Jimmy's usually gouges so I was pleased w the price.

It seems like every hype beer of that era hasn’t aged well. Although I haven’t had it.

I haven’t had it on draft before. Just from the bottle shipped fresh. They did recently scale it up so I can’t say how it is now. It sounds like kegs will be here but they have no plans to distribute bottles this far due to bottle conditioning (?)

It's not the strain that's the problem - these yeasts could be maintained and propagated in a separate vessel just like anything else. The problem is that the "hazy" styles involve dry-hopping during active fermentation - for brewers at a small scale, this affects the quality of yeast which settles to the bottom of the fermentation tank (for other styles, harvesting this yeast is a common and economical method).

Crushed Velvet > Juice is Loose

Aroma on JiL once popping the can was incredible, but left some to be desired part way through. It was good, but not great for me. Crushed Velvet was great from start to finish for me though. Didn't even have to go to the Mikerphone thread.

Rounded my night out last night with Pineapple Milkshake Nawi. As someone who generally has not loved this style, it was a pretty enjoyable beer. Lactose and vanilla wasn't too overdone. Pineapple got a bit much on the back half of the beer. Glad I only grabbed a single. For me, splitting a can of this and having 8 oz would've been perfect.

Do we know if they plan on sending Boss Tweed and other beers here in the near term?

We've had ON down in CU since April-ish. M-43 has been somewhat regular drops. We've seen Boss Tweed once and Cart Horse twice. I think that's about it.

Not sure if it counts (it’s an IPA from New England but not a NE IPA to me) but Maine Dinner is on and Monks pub. And it’s delicious.
