Latest Pipeworks Releases and Updates (2018)

I totally snoozed on going today. Does anyone know if/when these will get distro? Binny's already has pages for Speed of Sound and A Nice Slice on their website so I'm hoping I have a chance there.

 

I thought about asking the guy working today (which I felt bad for, since it was their holiday party the night before and I’m sure those guys can part well...and he was the only one working)...but I didn’t. I feel like they might do some distro tomorrow because they don’t want to hang onto all of it until Wednesday and have to stuff all the distro that they normally do in 5 days into 3 days.

 

Grapefruit rind and blueberry. Amazing beer.

 

BA Abduction is so much better than BCBS/Deths Tar

 

It's on tap in Downers Grove right now, new taproom that just opened called Orange and Brew.

 

I gotta say, even with the Murderous hiccup, 2018 was a terrific year for my Pdubs needs. The BA Jones Dog and Abduction releases were excellent. Lots of new can releases that were quite enjoyable. Hoping for a couple fish brews in cans in 2019.

 

This years BA Abduction is soooo much better than last years. 2017 was really thin

 

BA jones dog is the best local stout produced year after year.

 

I opened up Coconut Jones Dog last weekend. It definitely wasn’t a sun tan lotion flavor. Coconut was subtle (if anything a bit too in the background). Sweetness from the bourbon and a good amount of heat. However it wasn’t as boozy as many PW BA beers are fresh. Overall a very good beer

I opened up a bottle of The Final Act from last year. It's incredible, just wow.

 

Is Jones Dog Sundae ready to drink now?

 

I popped one too. Everyone at my family party that tried it was pretty impressed.

 

I'm a firm believer that if they released it, then they are saying the beer was ready then.

 

I generally disagree with PW BA beers but this one has more adjuncts than is typical thus the question. I appreciate your input though

 

anyone see speed of sound cans in the wild yet?

 

I get where you're coming from and I know it may result in a drink you prefer. I just think that they are releasing it as it is intended, so it's ready to drink according to the brewery. If you want to sit on it, that's fine. Waiting will only change it from how they intended it to be.

 

Been looking in the south and west burbs. Nothing yet.

 

I drank mine and it's ready to drink. It's not as hot as other fresh pw ba's.

 

Will try Trader Joe’s this afternoon and report back
