Anyone have any of the collective arts BA Origin of Darkness collaborations this year? How are they if so? Spotted a couple at a local Binnys. Wasn't sure if i should grab any or not...

Had the one with sea salt/vanilla aged in bourbon barrels. Thought for something on the shelf nowadays it was truly well done. Plenty of barrel presence and everything else in balance. Definitely worth a purchase and then some IMO. Cheers.

I had a taster of the full lineup at the Forbidden Root event last week. I thought they were all really well done. My favorites were the toasted coconut and vanilla (collab with Canada) and the honey, pepper and cocoa nibs (collab with Forbidden Root). There was one with miso and another with black truffle that definitely hit those flavors, but weren't exactly my thing.

So Rey Gordo from Cruz Blanca is a really good non-adjunct BA stout. If you're in the area I highly recommend grabbing a bottle.

That's too much internet shorthand occurring here.
What is "OP" standing in here for? :persevere:
    Oak Park?
    Orland Park?
    Original Poster?
C'mon people. Beer Advocate doesn't really work well with diminutive smartphone screens. If you're telling us about a venue, give the name of the town where the venue is. Expend those precious additional characters for this.

The Brass Tap is in Orland Park.

Edit - and as of yesterday, it appears many of those brews are still on.

Had the one with black truffle and thought it was really good, but this will depend on how you feel about truffle.

Have a bottle of the Forbidden Root collab that I plan to crack in the next few days.
