Bourbon County 2018

I plan to but since I was in the area I was hoping to get a few BCBS.

 

I was at Orland Park Binny's last weekend and they had several cases of regular. That would be a little over a half hour. I don't have any info on finding variants.

 

Posted in stout thread but foremost liquors in Arlington Heights got a second drop of variants, so if you've got $40 each they've got your bramble, vanilla, and orange. But only 2 pp because they probably don't want a lot of $100s in the register.

 

Cardinal Warehouse in Niles has everything except Reserve and Prop. 26.99 ea

There have been so many of the non-Prop and Reserve variants at tons of stores, I’m surprised places like you mention are still gouging. I’ve been to a couple stores personally that I know have overcharged in the past, but this year are selling stuff at the expected prices. I’ve seen multiple cases of Bramble lasting days at MSRP, so I can’t believe how long they’ll last at inflated prices.

 

Out of curiosity, what is regular selling for at these places like Binny's that have several cases available? I'm not in the Chicago area, so just curious what regular sells for there.

 

Binny's was $11.99 for reg this year. Up a $1 from last year. Up $2 from the year before that.

 

Higher than what one would pay at The Friendly Confines for a variant pint pour.

 

Price is wrong. $29.99, unfortunately.

 

For what it’s worth, I opened an Orange last night (seemed like an appropriate beer for Christmas) and was really impressed with how well it was executed. The spiced orange and chocolate were perfectly balanced for me and once it warmed a bit, the boozeyness took a back seat and it was just like enjoying one of those damn chocolate oranges I used to eat as a kid. Really, really enjoyed this one.

In case anyone is on the prowl, NBC Liquor in Carol Stream still has regular - 12.99, WW - 19.99, Bramble - 29.99, MO - 27.99, and BW Coffee - 19.99. I bought the last Vanilla for no real good reason outside of the fact it was there. Paid 27.99 . I admit I have a problem here. I went in for the regular. All sitting at the counter. Bonus to defer the mark-up, Cafe Deth is listed on shelf as 29.99 per 4. Found via Beer Menus. So it works...sometimes. I thought for sure they wouldn't have them or make me buy something else.

 

It's my favorite of the year. GI surprised me.

Any places have Vanilla that’s not $40/per near Buffalo Grove/AH area?

Mr A's in Palatine has it on Beermenus as $0.01 which is a red flag. I believe he was selling it for $35 or $37 or something like that...so close to $40 after tax. But not sure if he even still has any, so if you want to pay that much, I would call first.

I think he also had Bramble and Midnight Orange at the same price as Vanilla.

 

Yea I stopped in there a while back. I passed on it because it was like $35. Most of his variants are $25-$40

 

Strange but St Charles Binnys has 2013 BCBBW for $12.99 a bottle. Looks like 2-3 left.

 

Man. Always a day late on a surprise like that. Was just near there yesterday, but home now. If anyone wants to be my pal I'm sure we can work something out! Randomly got an unexpected BW Coffee today if that scratches anyone's itch.

 

@Ace77 - Binny's seems to be the standard people use for pricing. Jewel grocery store chain tends to be a bit less, with smaller stores sometimes a bit more.

Always seemed weird to me that they actually dropped the price of Reserve by $1. Like people would turn their nose up at Reserve for $26 vs. $25. Not advocating for higher prices, but just odd that they would actually *lower* the price of one of the most desirable variants.
