Trader Joe’s Batavia didn’t have it. The Beer Temple posted it so maybe suburbs tomorrow.

OK, so I picked up a 4-pack of Velocity of Light. I have to say that I was very, very underwhelmed. In fact, I dumped it half way through (to be sure, it wasn't a drain pour; I was just really craving something really good) and told my wife to give the other 3 to her dad and brother when they come to visit next week (tis the season).

I am missing something? I swear I read a couple of peoples' posts in the "best beers of 2018" (I'm still salty at the misleading title on that thread) where they had it listed.

Had one last night and thought it was fantastic. Sweet, good mouthfeel and a nice bitter finish. Can't wait to see what they do in terms of hazy beers for 2019.

What didn't work for you? It didn't blow my mind- I found Infinite Galaxy to be much more my style. Found VoL to be more of a citrus/bitter NEIPA that fruity.

I thought VoL was fine when I tried it the first time it was brewed.

Good beer, but not worth my dollars - the style is just too expensive.

They bsolueh nailed what they were going for though, which is really all you can ask.

I’ve enjoyed all of their forays into the hazy arena, but only king of Borgs really hit the mark for me.

Looking forward to see how they progress in 2019, onward and upward!

Had a can of Ninja vs. Unicorn last night for the first time in a while, such an excellent beer. I'll take that over and of their "hazy" IPAs any day of the week.

Bought a 4 pack today along with my 2nd 4 pack of Genuine Bock. Really like the Bock & their move into quality lagers is perfect timing for my current beer tastes

Speed of Sound is ridiculously good, better for me than VoL because I’m more partial to Mosaic. Great light body, pineapple and blueberry heavy.

I broke my no ipa bomber rule for it & really enjoyed it

Local TJ didn't receive Speed of Sound so ponied up the extra dollar at Binny's. Enjoyed this as much as I've enjoyed VoL. But if you are not a fan of Mosaic, stay away.

I was thinking about Pipeworks strong move into lagers & how, IMO, they’ve always been slightly ahead of the curve with beer trends & make their adjustments earlier than others (with the exception of going production/distro heavy vs taproom early on, but I can’t argue that their model & decision hasn’t worked out very well for them).

You look at starting out with bombers that were small batch & rotated weekly, the truck chasing of their early BA beers in 12oz bottles, then the move to core cans in 16x4. I remember how much of a game changer NvU in cans was to me. They realized ipa bombers were collecting dust on shelves so they pivoted to small batch cans.

Now the move towards more lagers that are high quality & easily available seems like the next smart progression. There’s a segment of the market, like me, that’s ready for the yin to the NE ipa/pastry stout yang & I think that’s craft lagers.

I guess that’s a long winded way to say @NOTpipeworks thanks for all you do & looking forward to 2019

I find this beer to be extremely flat in terms of it's flavor profile, something like a straight line versus a wave with big peaks. It doesn't come off as balanced, but it also doesn't hit any extremes that make me take notice. I would label this an extremely mild NEIPA, very reminiscent of the awful JiL I had where you basically get sugar, carbonation, and a faint bit of hop flavor. It isn't for me, but the neophyte NEIPA crowd can quaff this all day.

Well it is all mosaic. I wasn't expecting any sort of flavor complexity myself.
Hell yeah. 3 cheers for quaffing neophytes!
