I don't know if it counts as "average" when it holds a solid score of 91 on this site, but Blackheart Stout by Middle Ages Brewing Company is ridiculously good. I never really see it get mentioned, probably because it's draft only. If any of you are ever in the area of Syracuse, NY it's definately worth seeking out.

I also really enjoy Sam Adams Octoberfest and Spaten Dopplebock. Also i never hear much mention of SN Kellerweiss, but I think it's pretty solid.

Agreed on this point. Big fan of Mojo when I can get it fresh, and the Hazed and Infused was a really impressive Pale Ale.

I love Greene King Olde Suffolk. It deserves a lot more credit. Also Hirschbrau. The Dunkel and Hefeweizen are vastly under rated. Oh, and Rayon Vert by Green Flash. One of my all time favorite BPAs

I really liked New Holland's Blue Sunday Sour. Kinda reminded me of a poor mans RR Supplication.

I would have to choose a local brew in Texas, Rahr Iron Thistle . Its a Scotch Ale and this beer just hits the freaking spot. I wish it wasnt a seasonal

Orkney's Dragonhead Stout is particularly delectable, and while I believe it's world-class on this site I found St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout to be an amazing beer.

Redhook Longhammer IPA. I thought it was a pretty unique take on an AIPA. When so many IPA's are kind of similar, I think it does a good job of being really different.

I also still drink 2-3 Peroni's anytime I go to an Italian restaurant. It pairs well with food with a lot of garlic.
