2018 Barrel Aged Victory at Sea

    I loved the 2017 version of this beer and we saw quite a bit of it here in Portland. There's been lots of reviews and pics on WBAYDN of the 2018 version but I haven't seen any around town. Did I miss it or is it maybe still comin down the pipe later for the PNW?

    Picked up a bottle today, I haven’t had Victory at Sea in years, but remembered I always enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I found the BA version not enjoyable. Reminded me of my I usually dislike multiple adjunct beers, no harmony at all between the barrel, coffee, vanilla, and I get a weird aftertaste that I think comes from the coffee?? I haven’t bought Ballast Point since they sold out, what’s the consensus on the quality of their beers overall since then?

    This is the only Ballast Point beer I’ll buy. So I couldn’t comment on their overall quality. I can say that Coconut Victory at Sea tastes like sun tan lotion though. I dumped it after two sips.

    Yeah, I ended up not being able to finish 12 oz. of BA Victory at Sea. Shrug. Should of bought another 4 pack of Matchless’ Dallah Breakfast Stout.
