Fantastic IPA, IMO. Any one else agree or disagree?

I am a new Hoppin Frog fan. Have had their Hoppin to Heaven IPA and thought it was a typical IPA, moved on to Mean Manalishi Double IPA and was impressed. The brothers reviewed the Mean Manalishi 4+ years ago and were not impressed. Thoughts? Tonight I had the Hop Dam Triple IPA... and I am a fan! Always nervous about this one because it of their prices in "big box" stores @ $15.99. Finally drove down to Hoppin Frog and picked up a few misc. bottles, including the Hop Damn Triple IPA, hoping the others are just as good.

I'm a big fan of Hoppin Frog beers but have never been overly impressed with any of their IPAs.

It's a good beer, but the pricing is ridiculous. It used to go for $20 which is laughable. $16 is still laughable. Actually all of their prices are laughable.. but I'm a sucker for their stouts and they do make good beers..

I agree. I paid $14 from the Hopping Frog directly. Would like to see their beers in 6 packs but that is just me hoping those will be priced cheaper.

The only thing I've ever had from them is B.O.R.I.S. which was delicious. I'm skeptical about paying such a hefty price for their other beers, however.

I agree that the IPAs seem to be overpriced though the stouts imo (while I'd prefer cheaper) are about right on price usually. Considering people pay how much? for Darkness, Stout Trooper, and other non-BA stouts every year when BORIS is far superior imo.

BA BORIS is fantastic, the pumpkin is as well. I haven't tried some of the newer offerings like the Black IPA but I've heard good things. Not sure if they still do the Black and Tan but I always found that beer great, too.

Very good beers, way over priced.

I agree with the priciness of most of their beers...way to much $$, especially for the IPAs. However, BORIS, BA BORIS, DORIS and BANE are about par for the course for what they are...ok ok, BANE is slightly overpriced too but its delicious

I'm a big fan of Hop Dam and many other brews from Hoppin Frog. Hop Dam is one of my favorite "triple" IPAs. I agree about the prices being hefty, but I've been into craft beer long enough that I'm getting pretty numb to that. Between those prices & the lack of bottle dating, I won't buy their IPAs unless they are from a shipment I know to be recent.
I'm also in agreement about BORIS, BA BORIS & DORIS all being stellar & completely worth the price.

If I want a hop explosion, I'd pay the $14 bucks for a Hop Dam Triple IPA. If I am just looking for a great IPA, I'll go for a Brew Kettle White Rajah but thats hit or miss if you are going to able to find it (even at The Brew Kettle). All speaking locally of course.

Hoppin Frog makes good beer but there are plenty of comparable beers available at a more reasonable price.

I tried their double and thought it was way over priced and wasnt really that great. I wont dare risk 16$. Especially since I dont think they have bottle dates.

    Is $9 for B.O.R.I.S, $11.50 FOR D.O.R.I.S., & $15 FOR BA B.O.R.I.S. laughable?
I live in SE PA, so bear that in mind.

Their prices are subject to complaints, that said, Hop Dam is worth it, IF IT'S FRESH. Unfortunately I've found that to be rather questionable as they don't bottle date. If you aren't certain that it is a brand new arrival, don't pull the trigger.

Not really. I live 30 minutes from the brewery and that's what they go for.

One of these days I'll try all their beers, but right now it's too $$$ for me. The BORIS the crusher was pretty darn good tho from what I remember.

White Rajah's are everywhere around me for $1.89 a bottle. That's kind of hard to pass up IMO. So I usually just stick with the IPA's that I KNOW are worth the $$$. In Ohio, I'll pay up for freshly shipped West Cost IPA's (Sculpin), Founder's Harvest or similar quality IPA's.

I'm just mulling over in my head what non-BA Oatmeal stouts I regularly buy at $19.64 for a 4-pack, or "Double" Oatmeal stouts I pay $25.09 for a 4-pack of....

$15 for a BA stout sounds good.... until you look at it as buying a BCBS alternative at $32.73 for a 4-pack.

Hoping the brew Naked Evil again, I think it was available the same time of year this year.

BCBS was relatively easy for me to track down this year (bought over a case), but is marked up considerably compared to the $20-ish I've seen people paying elsewhere (i.e. not SE PA).

Your BCBS is just a wee bit high for what I've paid for 4-packs of BCBS in my locale.

You missed the point. BA B.O.R.I.S. per ounce, if it were put into 4-packs, would be $32.73 If you can justify paying that, when BCBS is about is $23-$24 a 4-pack, you're crazy.

I could order BCBS for less than $32.73/4-pack SHIPPED.... would I rather have a 4-pack of BCBS or 2x BA BORIS.... it's a no-brainer for me.
