Develops for up to 5* years in the bottle!

    *actually 11 years

In all seriousness, it would be cool to try a vintage of BCBS that old. I had a 2006 vintage around 2012, which is the most aged vintage I've had.

    50

...maybe with a free 2018 pour? Or maybe I’ll pay for that too? It was unclear!

The slow burn could be from the bacterial infection resulting from the barrel

I cracked open a 2009 a couple weeks ago. Damn thing was still boozy. No oxidation and could’ve left it another 10 years. Think it was a twist off too

the infection didn't come from the barrel. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, now we've come full circle ...

Anddd they're out of 2008. I got here 10 minutes ago and just missed the last one.

Triple barrel is great. 18.8% though...

And I thought the double barrel BCS was boozy...

That’s good to hear. We did a 2003, 2004, and 2005 in May of 2014, and they were all an oxidized mess.

Two folks here said 2008 flat, wouldn’t seek out, they preferred the 2013 bottle much purchased much better.

Triple barrel whiskey very smooth, though I preferred the Double and Double Brandy December pours.

Carbonation was low on 2008, for sure. But the flavor profile was really, really nice. Licorice, smoke, slight vanilla, molasses, char, burnt sugar... I thought it was pretty cool. I usually balk at some of these pricey vintages, but I was satisfied with my purchase.

For a palate reference, I thought:

Double barrel brandy >>>>>>>> triple barrel > double barrel

Agreed. Not only do I work across the street from there but I also have a 10min ride home from there. Lol, had a Prop 17’ during lunch break last year. Good times.

We did 2006-2016 when 16 was released and thought 2009 was the best of the lot

Oldest vintage I've had was 14 Prop. Had it on New Year's Eve at our party/share. Was still amazing.

A cuvee of 14 Prop and 18 Assassin was outstanding, btw.

As further proof of different palates, I'd go:

Double barrel brandy < triple barrel < double barrel

No no no. Your palate is wrong and your opinions are wrong too. /s

It really is interesting how there few times there is a wide consensus on a variation of beer.

Secondly, I forget who brought this up about the taste difference between the 14.7% and 15.2% '18 Regular BCS. I tried the 14.7% on draft last night at Fulton and thought it was more in line with what I remember from previous vintages of Regular. More of the barrel char, vanilla, and leathery taste compared to the fruitier 15.2%. I bought two bottle of the 14.7% at Jewel after and intend to do a blind taste test this weekend to see if I can actually discern the difference between the two.

Double Brandy Barrel >> Double Barrel > Triple Barrel

All previous comparisons posted above are wrong, null and void.
