This is the same federal bureau that told Indeed Brewing they couldn't release a beer called "LSD?" Strong work, fellas!

They wouldn't want anybody to be disappointed.
I've seen a few, maybe some from Ithaca Beer Co.? I know there have been others, so apparently not required in NY.
Went to the brewery just up the road Sunday. They had three new beers on tap. The can cooler was empty, however. First time that I've seen , since they started canning, last March.
Maybe @Bharder286 could shed some light on these issues, if any?

Congress would rather play politics than do their job. Both political parties are dysfunctional, so would not disagree.

Its a lot easier to get paid to complain and then go on vacay than to actually work for a living. Afterall, congress is asked to work for a little over half the year :poop:

I think the logical conclusion to your thesis is that the American people are dysfunctional. Seems about right. We do need new voices that are honest.

How do I get in on that... I am on a couple forums and see people posting all the time at work. Aside from not having time to do so (usually... lunch and break is a different story) I always have managers up in my business all the time if I get up to pee...
Seriously, how do I get in on that - I'm looking for work....

Depending on your skills/education or your willingness to go through an apprenticeship there are plenty of options available on www.USAjobs.gov. I'm personally a DoD civilian employee working in the nuclear field as an inspector. I came in as a Pipefitter and worked on the subs and carriers for about 4 yrs learning the systems and how the place worked then applied within the organization to get into the inspection department. Been an inspector for the last 4 yrs. I mostly work 12 hr days through the week with the option of the weekend if willing to come in which I always come in at least a couple of Saturdays a month, provides me with disposable income to waste on $20 4pks and a ton of trading. All this and did it with only a high school diploma. I would be willing to bet a couple paychecks that the majority of the people working at my particular shipyard spend a few hours fucking off online everyday, its just the nature of government work. So much redtape and policy in place its hard to get anything done so there is alot of down time. If you are willing to relocate, Portsmouth New Hampshire shipyard is hiring currently and we are hiring aggressively down in VA. Last year we saw 1000 new workers come in, this year maybe just as many as our fleet is getting older and requiring more work.

Too funny this thread turned into an anti-government rant by many. It fits the demographic, older, whiter and certainly male. :sunglasses:

Before getting your hopes up about a cushy govt job where you can surf beer forums, note that all government facilities monitor inbound and outbound traffic. Most facilities block traffic to sites known for ****, gambling, drinking, smoking, etc. We're warned that everything we do is monitored, logged, and may be reported. Most medium to large businesses do this too.

Overall, it's bad karma for your career to do non-work-related things at work. Besides wasting employer's money through reduced productivity, it is how most security breaches occur. If you go to the wrong site, your system can be compromised, and it can spread through the network, costing thousands to millions of dollars to rectify. Also, it can be a liability for the employer if employees are doing illegal things and it is traced back to their network. Granted, BA surfing at work isn't illegal, but it could get you reprimanded.

People waste way more time on their phones than on corporate computers.

Can I like this a few thousand times? Incredibly true. Would love to go back to when phones could only send and receive actual calls. Traffic would improve and people would have to actually know things and not rely on google. Would love to see social media go the way of the dinosaurs also.

Beer only being distributed in one state doesn't technically require an abv listing. It becomes necessary when that brewers product is getting distribution to multiple states. There's some leeway on this if its an instance where the brewery picks up a new market in another state and has an additional pallet of two of cans and/or rolls of labels which have not been used.
Dates are something that the breweries themselves decided to do. It's not actually required at all.
Unless it's some kind of additional fancy ingredient which falls outside of the basic four of water, grain, hops, and yeast. Why bother crunching it onto a label? Also, secrets are good to keep.
And unless it's some kind of trendy hop. Re, citra, mosaic, galaxy, cashmere, el dorado, crystal, etc. Or some kind of hop that breweries are constantly looking to spot buy. Not really necessary other than for marketing purposes.

The sad part is they all get great pensions after not being responsible and working for them. Very few of us get pensions any more and we work for a living!

Actually ingredient labeling was seriously considered in the 1970's. After lengthy public hearings and comment, ATF did indeed adopt ingredient labeling requirements. ATF provided a 4 or 5 year phase-in period for them to become effective. The minute the Reagan Administration came into power, the ingredient labeling requirement was immediately withdrawn. While I believe the reasons provided by ATF were cost, economic and trade issues, the actual reason was simply the Administration's regulatory approach. The rules never became mandatory and soon faded from memory. To my knowledge ingredient labeling has never again surfaced as an realistic proposal, nor does it have any chance of occurring in the current regulatory environment. ATF/TTB have, however, required certain allergens (nuts, dairy, shellfish, etc.) to be disclosed on the label, in conformity with FDA rules concerning allergens.
