I agree, this year is off to a boring start. Hopefully things pick up. No initial package yet, no members swag and nothing new to kick off the year. This will be a make it or break it year for me.

my bottle opener from last year (no nail, but teeth) is the one i use for everything ... the string lets me hang it from the cupboard that has the plates too so its even easier to use lol

I'm personally relieved with the lack of a big initial allocations package as in years past.

The pain in the piggy bank from the holidays, and more so, the glut of beer I have in the cellar, have me relieved that I can take a month off from buying and accumulating and focus on volume reduction for a few weeks.

I’m excited for The Bruery’s BBLs! I love their BBLs and I love putting their BBLs in my mouth!

How is 2018 Gray Monday drinking? Good now, or needs more rest?

Have you tried 2018 yet? Would seem pointless to age if you haven’t even had it.

I have not. One was gifted to a friend. I tried it on the TR years ago but have never been able to justify the price myself. I wasn't sure what conventional wisdom is for GM.

I opened a bottle 2-3 weeks ago and quite enjoyed it. To my palate (we're all different, keep that in mind) a 19-20% ABV beer is going to be "hot" for quite some time, so I don't gain too much from aging it unless I'm going to do so for at least 4-5 years. That's fine with BT, but with GM or MW after that amount of time the adjuncts fade as well. I say drink those two fresh, and age BT, but that's just me.

PSA opened my first Crumbfather and there was mild overflow. I wonder if bottle was overfilled because despite all the liquid on the counter the level in bottle was still pretty high on the neck. The beer tastes fantastic - tons of pecan flavor.

It’s a gusher... but an awesome one!

Haven't opened up a '18 Grey monday yet, but I am planning on opening up a '17 tonight. Will report later.

Opened up and mine was a mini gusher. Literally, a small bit of liquid was lost onto the table. Initially I thought I just mishandled it, to cause the issue. But one of my friends told me about his two gushers. Two other friends opened up theirs with no issue. Gusher or not, Crumbfather with the Pecans & Cinnamon was stupid good. It was better than I could of Imagined.

Anyone been to any of the DC parties? If I go next weekend and show up at 11 you think I'd make the first 100?

I went for the grand opening and at an hour before open i was i think like 40th in line, by the time it opened there must have been 200-300 people there... but that was the grand opening so who knows about this event.

I opened mine a couple of days ago to no issue. I opened it right after taking it out of the fridge so I'm not sure if the temp had anything to do with it. Didn't drink it at fridge temp of course - I agree it's a great beer.

Yeah, Crumbfather was fantastic. Easily one of my top two or three across all four Hoarder boxes.

It was crazy busy for the Other Half release. I would say an hour and a half to be safe.
