Well, the current TTB labeling requirements are
Subpart C—Labeling Requirements for Malt Beverages
    §7.20 General.

...a bit more extensive than you suggest, and listing ABV remains voluntary except in some states that do prohibit or require it, as noted in the post above. As you can read there, while there is a tolerance allowed in listing the ABV:
there is no mechanism involved in the process of a brewery receiving a COLA for the TTB to actually "make sure... that the abv is accurate".
(That is done for a small percentage of released beers on a random basis- see
    Alcohol Beverage Sampling Program).

 Yeah, I have to actually know things, in my work, not just access them.
Can't go along with the social media thing entirely. It's a way to keep up with the out of town nieces and nephews, and others, more easily, and frequently. There would be so much more missed without it. Also I get to visit all over the world, with places and people, that I would never get the chance to otherwise. & they with me, and here. Most of my contacts did so, as a means of seeing an exotic place (to them). I.e. here.:astonished: It's amazing how many people are infatuated with snow.

:slight_frown: Just because we/I don't have as good a deal as my grandparents, I don't wish a crappy deal on others. I don't hold any grudge against any of that. Mark Blyth (Scottish economist, currently at Brown U.) described it in way I'd never previously thought of : it's a zero-sum/no-win(overall) game. If wages go up , the stock market (i.e. your retirement $) goes down. If the market goes up, it means wages are stagnant (at best). | That , IRAs, etc, were substituted for pensions as an inflation-fighting measure, i.e., to keep labor % of total , down. Anyway, the people we're talking about have little to any say on policy/outcome.

Rather condescending wouldn't you think ? And condescension is just a snooty form of prejudice; we are only condescending to those we feel are inherently beneath us. Hold up ... I know you certainly weren't trying to be prejudiced toward older, whiter males. Please forgive me as I usually wouldn't have responded to these sort of remarks but I just have to ask . . . What is whiter by the way ?

Yeah, apparently so. Beer Tree , near me, just announced a can release for Thursday. Two of the three beers are new, so apparently the TTB wasn't involved. Outside of the brewery, they only self-distribute , in very small quantities, in Binghamton, Rochester, and Syracuse.

Nah, just another good example that D.C. has far too many overgrown children who never learned that sharing and compromise is how to actually have a functioning society. That rot is clearly coming from a conman who is still running a game that is doomed to fail because as his ghostwriter succinctly said
"You can't con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don't deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on."
The excitement has worn off, and people from across the board seem to finally be catching on.

That's an interesting POV since I've always had the impression that the majority of BAs are millennials, hipsters, Gen Xs & Ys...in other words, mostly people 40 and under.

Also, just out of curiousity, where did you get your demographic stats? I wasn't aware BA provided that information.

The old prohibition days. If you read about the profits made on liquor back in those days the top bootleggers would be wealthier than most people we consider wealthy today. Minus the richest in the world.

I have never seen a correlation of wages to lower stock market. In fact I think you will see the opposite. Wage gains are usually associated with productivity and a good economy. Those are both things that propel the stock market. The economy is not a zero sum game. No one has to lose for the stock market to go up.
