So we are sending local beers?

 

Rules
Minimum 100 ounces and maximum of 144 ounces of beer that is out of your target’s distribution area (seekabrew.com is helpful and often times just doing a search on the brewery can help).

Also keep in mind your target’s wants and style preferences along with freshness of any hoppy beer. Don’t just send the last couple IPAs from your fridge if they are a couple months old. Basically, send a box you’d be excited to receive. This is your chance to not only send a great box but show off those local breweries that others may not have heard about.

You will also be expected to give at least five clues as to who your target is. I want everyone to stay engaged in this. If you want example of clues, I’d recommend visiting any of the “Hints and Hauls” threads in this forum. I can also help if you want to send a message.

One last rule I want to add as we've had a few struggle with this. Please communicate. Let me/everyone know if you are going to be away and either can’t receive boxes or won’t be sending clues/participating for a few days. Remember that your sender is putting some time/thought into your box, so make sure you upload a picture to our thread after you receive your box.

Right, I saw the rules. I just want to clarify and make sure I read correctly.

 

I know some folks here like to go pretty hard representing their regions with rarer beers and brewery exclusives. I think most folks would be happy with beers they havent seen/aren't on their local shelves.

Send something that incorporates the styles your match has specified as wants, and make sure they're beers that aren't distributed to their area.

Basically, I try to send the best beers available to me from my region.

 

I'm not super in to Minnesota hops (Barrel Theory aside) so I usually go half Wisconsin/half Minnesota split - more than anything though, I just try to hit styles my target likes and don't worry about locale.

I think most of us try to hit out of distro stuff for our targets - that's what always makes me happy in a box, speaking for myself. If I can walk down to the store and buy it, I don't want folks to bother shipping it to me.

 

@Vidblain hits the nail on the head there. Nice mix of out of market, good local, personal favorites, style wants, and maybe actual wants

 

I agree with all these comments. We stalk each other on untappd and here to see if your target has had the beer yet. I think most of us appreciate new ticks. Although I still have not figured out how to search a ba profile to see if someone has had a specific beer. Is there a way to do that? UT is so much more user friendly.

 

No way on ba to search just the hard way Jay and that's if they check on ba I know I rarely do

 

No luck here either - really difficult to search someone's beer check-ins on BA.
