Check this out! WWS in a *locked* box surrounded by Bud Light Platinum! Thought it was amusing.

Must be a good brew if its on the top shelf with those extra crafty bud light platinums!

This has gotta be an "anti-theft" precaution of sorts to prevent people from throwing these in a mix a 6 for $9.99

I kind of wondered that, too. But even then...unless the person who unlocks it then escorts you to the register, what's to stop some thieving asshat from making a mixed sixer with it anyway?

Personally, I don't have any objection to the way David does things at my favorite grocery store/beer store back home. Special releases like that simply get a sign in the beer aisle. Want a bottle? Go ask for it, and purchase it, at customer service. If it keeps the store from getting screwed over, I'm all for it.

Nothing I suppose, but it definitely still draws attention to them, which is a deterrent.

Definitely agree and really it's gotta be the way it's done. I'm sure this happens all the time with Midas Touch and Palo Santo.

    ...cough cough...LeBleu release?

True, I have seen this happen way too often at Wegmans in Syracuse. Not just this one, but the Palo Santo, 120 minute, Midas amongst others....Not fair to those who make an honest 6-pack.

Still nothing. Last I heard they were waiting for some of the sediment to disappear from the bottles...

That top shelf is where the elite stuff is found.

I think it may be time to move to individually priced bottles, maybe with a 10% mix-a-six discount. That's how liquor stores near me do it, but I don't think they do the discount anymore, sadly. I've broken the $20 mark for a mixed six. Not too hard when you toss Belgians in there.

    Isn't that per bottle?

I still think that's pretty cheap. It's 9.99 at finger lakes beverage.
