Heading out to Boston on the weekend. I was wondering if anyone could give me the names some great beer bars or bottle shops to visit around the area in which the St. Patty's day parade will take place? I would like to try some Founders beer, if possible! Thanks!

I went up there back in October. I can tell you the places I went and see if any locals agree.

Sunset Grill - Amazing! The beer menu is ten times larger than any menu I have ever seen! Just about everything I could imagaine! And the interior is full of beer ****! BTW, there is this frozen dessert you have to get. Its some kind of espresso, toffee, vanilla oreo thing. Its pretty sweet!

The bottle shop I went to was closer to where we were staying. Its called Vinnin Square Liquors. I was like a kid in a candy store there. Lots of stuff that I cannot get back home. The whole back wall is cold beer and there is one very long isle of craft. It may not be the largest selection in Bostson (I would surely hope not!) but it was pretty awesome to me. http://vinninliquors.com/beer.html

I don't know the parade path but, the Cambridge Brewing Company is a must visit in my opinion, Lord Hobo isn't far from there and a good place to stop in as well. Also for bottle shops the Craft Beer Cellar is a good choice. The prices are slightly higher than you might find elsewhere but the selection and the atmoshpere make it worth it.

Not too far out of the way but visit Juio's Liquors in Westborough off of Rte 9 near the Stop n Shop. You will not be dissappointed.

Downtown is Bukowski, but I don't know its proximity to the parade. If the parade is close to this place it will be jammed because it's small.

The parade takes place in South Boston and that part of town is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to good beer and food.

If you are staying in Southie then you can take the red line from there to the Kendall stop in Cambridge and hit up Cambridge brewing company and Lord Hobo. Those are my 2 favorite places.

If you are looking for bottles of Founders then head to the downtown area and go to Boston Wine Exchange. They had 5 different Founders beers for sale when I was in there yesterday. May I suggest Double Trouble or the porter.
