I think the bigger crowd is the 'tose loving people who like creamy milkshakes...it has more mass appeal to non-beer geeks. We are a bunch of purists on this board...

Thus far all anniversary beers have been non-tose right? I know 4th and 3rd were both 10% and I think 2nd and 1st were right there as well if not 10 also. Hopefully its something along those lines without lactose

It's an extreme modification to switch the canning line from one can size to another.

    Off topic:

I walked into a shitty bodega/vape shop/beer store and they actually have 10+ bottles of 2018 BCBS Rare Stout... this seems very abnormal, or, was there a much larger distribution this year? I know Top Hops got an unexpected second delivery as an example...

I don't know what you mean by 2018 rare, reserve maybe? 2015 was the last batch of rare and we did get his with multiple drops across years. Depending on the bodega you mean, it very likely might not be on many beer nerds radar. Lots of surprising bottles can be found across the city!

    I meant, 2018 Reserve, yes.

It shouldn't be on any beer nerds radar, as they have no craft beer. It's all AB-InBev.

I’m sure you’re right and I admit I have no brewery experience but I have seen other breweries put out both 16 oz and 12 oz cans. Even smaller local ones like Icarus and Bolero Snort here in NJ do it.

I believe those breweries use a mobile canner ( Iron Heart). At least they did at some point.

Carton? They have 12s and 16s.

As far as I know (I’m most likely wrong), the only 12 oz Carton puts out are Regular/Irregular Coffee and that’s once a year. It would be much less of a hassle to adjust the canning line for a once a year release.

    There's also this town,which is a flagship beer,so it's usually in stock ..

Sorry, didn't see where Carton was mentioned, though that would be a good example. I know they do This Town in 12oz format.

According to random people in the Facebook group, the anniversary release is going to be spread across two weekends (the 2nd and 9th) and will feature rereleases of the biggest collabs and an anniversary IPA and stout.

Obviously take this with a grain on salt.
